Rather, I gave an answer which attempted to explain all of the possible contexts. My gut feeling about such things is to let a student know that there is a world of context, and that the meaning of a particular phrase may be context-dependent.
A simple yes/no answer might be sufficient (given more context from the asker), but I think that it is more useful to the asker to understand that the answer is *not* a simple yes/no, and that context might change the…
