@XanderHenderson @quid Can you lock it as kept for historical reasons but not suitable for the site? As per the comment: "[...] the OP was too lazy to type in the equation himself to any plotting program or calculator, which would have immediately shown that the equation is 'for real'. If the OP were asking for an explanation of how such an equation might be derived, as ShreevatsaR has done, that would be an appropriate question."
A question mentioned previously (more than once) here in CRUDE was linked in the recent post on meta: Why was this question deleted after it had been “finished”? (This room has already been mentioned in comments. I'm just mentioning this here in case the discussion on meta is interesting for users of this room.)
@paulplusx I tried explaining him politely but he thinks that everyone here is trying to take his freedom. I don't know why he does that, in fact he knows it very well that his answer has a higher chance of getting down-voted. Even if he his motivation is reputation points, it's fine but isn't he digging his own grave by answering PSQs and losing reputation?
@JoséCarlosSantos I'd be careful about criticizing a user you compete closely with for max votes rep each week/month.... It doesn't look good, and besides, seems I've had to comment to you, just as you commented to gimusi.
My view of the left column of pinned posts is limited, cause I often use my handy 11 inch diagonal notebook, unless I'm at the university in my office. So I'm limited to typically seeing only between 3-4 pinned posts, unless I zoom out until I can hardly read them.
@XanderHenderson Yeah, it certainly doesn't yet represent (the question or comments) the whole story, but, as usual, finds a target to pin the blame on. How simplistic.
@XanderHenderson I honestly can't be bothered; this site has long been too out of line with its own guidelines and too few users follow them or care that it is on the edge of becoming another Yahoo Answers where some askers behave like everyone owes them a complete solution.
@amWhy I admit I am surprised that site quality was not brought up in all the prior comments; I thought surely someone would have. Sigh... it's certain that a vocal few will persist in insisting that poor questions with full answers should not be deleted, and that other users must spruce up in the wake of the asker.
@amWhy I'll go over it once again before I log out. Thank you so much.
Speaking of the policies I think I have slipped here and answered this a few weeks back. If required I'll delete my answer. I am flagging the question as no-effort.
@paulplusx Don't worry about an occasional slip, or a slip when you were early to this site. It happens: eagerness/interest in the problem, etc. The key thing is not to make such answers a habit, which I don't see you doing. :-)
@SmokeDetector @amWhy It seems like this was actual question that got edit to this, but it got deleted before I saw it, can you look into the original question/who the editor was?
Bernard did the editing earlier, @Holo It seems the user (now deleted) I can't know. The user/asker twice tried to delete the question they asked. First time Bernard rolled back to the original question, corrected title; second time (post deleted/asker deleted), I rolled back to the original/Bernard's edit.
