Q: Why were my flags declined on these clearly "conversational" comments?

Peter DunihoCommunity guidance on comments is clear: comments are ephemeral, intended to live long enough to convey information to either the author of a post, or another person commenting, and no longer. Comments which are conversational are never appropriate, as clearly called out in the flagging UI ("outd...

@Criggie all-in-one routers are quite a bit cheaper than AP. There is some pretty sweet all-in-one stuff comming: 3 piece sets of 11ax mesh that also connects to 5G networks (or LTE in backwaters like Germany).
If that thing would balance both connections to connect a wired DSL router and 5G that would be super nice.
We have an unlimited 5G contract. However, 5G doesn't reach our flat. LTE reception depends on weather conditions. (I suppose it will also suck at next Oktoberfest in '22)

Found the “carbon frame ran over by car” photo

Did it break?
I suppose they didn't have a follow up (or might not even checked it).

not yet I presume
So hopefully buddy who fell over on his bike will be fine

In my materials science course CFC were considered rather benign when it came to catastrophic failure. Al and Mg alloys were super scary with dynamic loads. Especially when corrosion is involved. Steel moderately scary.
Usually that stuff breaks by delaminating and the matrix crumbling out while some fibres keep it together. Becomes wobly but still takes tensile loads.
Meanwhile ductile Al just opens like a zipper along cracks. With forged stuff you suddenly have two separate pieces. (We all held a helicopter gear box part that split in two. Both parts did perfectly fit together.)
