is there a CF equivalent to metal fatigue?

I don't think so - metal fatigue is basically many bends which are below the elastic modulus, so the metal isn't permanently deformed.
Once Carbon fibre exceeds its tensile strength and is broken, its dead.
and scratches/abrasions lower that limit
also minor damage allows water in, which weakens the layup by seeping in-between and allowing movement ? Not sure on the detail there.
As long as Carbon fibre stays below the limit, its "indefinitely" durable.
