Hey, if anyone ever finds that they have a CPU stuck to the heat sink, just because of thermal paste over a couple of years, a razor blade will, if applied carefully to the side, will break the seal and the processor will easily come off.
@Rol you're a blender guy...so question, what is the unit of measure for coordinates in blender for the game engine. e.g. - gravity is set to 9.8 or whatever. if i set realistic weights for objects, should 1 charting unit be 1 meter or what?
i guess i could test it with known size models and expected times to fall large distances, but i thought asking might be easier...
@AbrahamVanHelpsing Blender has its own units, but it can be a bit confusing when trying to work with real world values. Gravity AFAIK is set to a real world value, so you can set your gravity to something like earth an get realistic results, but the distances on the other hand are very different.
I'd have to do some digging and find out how to convert between Blender's units and real world units.
yeah, i thought it might make a good question for blender SE proposed...anyway. scale being constant gravity should work properly. i just didn't know if there was a good unit conversion
I am facing a problem here with Ubuntu version 10.4 I am working with. I am having a wifi router and when I start my system, Ubuntu connects to wifi automatically. But if due to some reasons the connection is lost and established again then Ubuntu wireless system doesn't connect automatically and...
Even though I've done what was required, some hats are not being awarded. Why is this? (I'm not chasing hats (don't care really lol), but just noticed along the way that some are missing or have big delays).
@owl It's helpful to have screenshots, but it would be more help if it were written. It makes the post cleaner and easier to load. But - besides that - do you have Windows? If so, does it occur there?
OK. When that happens, please try: 1) Pressing many keys on the keyboard 2) Moving your mouse or touchpad 3) Pressing the power button *once*. 4) Report back with the results.
I know you've set it to 'do nothing', but you never know. Ubuntu is not perfect. Especially not with nVidia.
It is possible for a moderator to merge a question that's closed, but not as a duplicate?

@iSeth No hacking involved. Their gravatar itself has those images included. It's clever, but it doesn't look anything like having actual hats, which extend beyond the borders of your gravatar. I can't imagine that this would be considered a violation of any policy.
@iSeth I know what you mean, but I disagree. This is like saying that someone whose gravatar is a picture of an onion is fraudulently claiming to be an onion. The hats are smaller and are shown inside the gravatar--if you look at anyone wearing hats on the site, you'll see that the hats are larger and extend beyond the gravatar.
Further, since there are multiple "hats" shown at the same time in the gravatar, but only one "real" hat can be work at a time, it's obviously not an attempt to fool anyone into thinking he has those hats. (Also, what do you mean by "access to the servers"? Everytime we use the site we're "accessing the servers.")
no, there isn't anything wrong with it. @AbrahamVanHelpsing was asking is anyone had tried to "hack" the hats and add more than one/get ones you don't have.

i've installed ubuntu desktop 12.10 on a fujitsu amilo 1536 notebook. it works just fine.
to extract a tar-archive i need root-privilegies but i haven't. i can't use sudo to switch because the user i use is not in ...
@iSeth i don't think so...download the tar as a non-root user. he's asking how to get root he's not entitled to in order to install software. i'ld post the redownload as non-root, but it would sound...mean.
A few days ago I suggested an edit to a question (Terminal bell without a PC speaker to correct a wrong path). Can I see the review status? The place in the review queue? I may have made the edit as anonymous user.
@guntbert it won't hurt as long as you're sure the edit is right. suggesting wrong edits gets irritating for people that review them, but someone might have seen it and changed something else forgetting your particular edit
I am sad to say it, but I am turning my back on Ubuntu. One last thing I need to know though is how to nuke my hard drive. that's actually a definition in the urban slang website. just saying someone had to add it

I have to edit more than necessary - but now I know why the first edit didn't even make i into the queue - I must have overlooked that error message :-)
