@jrg, welp it has an awesome transform tool but seems to not work with keyframes at all

seems like keyframes only control the alpha channel.... so dissapointing

on the other hand openshot can animate transforms like png files for example growing or panning

but there is no wisywg for setting the values

you have to imagine a number and enter the number and then refresh the screen.... it takes forever

Okay. Guess I got lucky, or I just do the "full load of proprietary junk/restricted + installing multiarch full load" right from the beginning. and lucked up with compatible hardware and a lightweight DE (and most importantly reasonable expectations)

@Takkat Oh and btw, I think enabling releasename-backports without any proper pinning to the package needed will pull in way more unrelated updates which might even break your installation (because it's tested to a different (lower) standard).

@gertvdijk yeah, I only enable backports to install the one specific package I need to immediately disable it again.

@Takkat Pinning should be easier instead to receive updates for the installed packages. Is this possible using a GUI package manager btw? I mean proper pinning in e.g. /etc/apt/preferences.d/*

@gertvdijk I still mostly use synaptic which comes with pinning enabled (Lock Version)

@Takkat I've used that in the past, but it seems that it uses regular DPKG holds, rather than pinning
