I'm running Ubuntu 12.04. When I switch to the first text terminal using Ctrl+Alt+F1, I'm presented with a prompt that asks for user name and password. When I input the user name and password, I get login incorrect. I'm typing the right user name and password. What could be the problem?

i want to make a company that all it does all day is make linux work on new devices... we would make our money on hosting linux events and specific support for updates etc
@JourneymanGeek well then its good.. cos I use cracked versions of PS.. since I can't afford it... but I would prefer to use GIMP.. if there were a lot more tutorials for it.. :)
@ShyamK, the main difference is 2 years after buying a $3000 mac they will no longer support your hardware and then all new software will not be installable on your machine.
with linux . new software is always installable and old hardware is always supported
@ShyamK, with mac you are stuck with the aqua desktop. basically stuck with what you get. with linux you have unity , kde, lxde, tiling wm , gnome shell, enlightenment or whatever you want

@jrg Wow, you shouldn't be experiencing problems with so many copies. Maybe the upload failed on all of them? And still, don't you have the original? I don't get it.
