@aking1012: have you notice this in virtualbox (I certainly haven't in vmware):

the generic image is larger, but nowhere near as large, even with any extra modules that may be loaded
design question, if you have a data model that represents a foreign datastore, would you make the sync a method on the model or would you create a helper class for it?
I'm scraping a remote API and running a sync on the application DB. THe API itself is rate limited and extremely latent. So it makes more sense to cache
simple example - you have a local stock database. you're trying to integrate a foreign data source for things you're missing in the local one. do you add a complex method to your local query routine, or do you add a class to access the foreign data store?
my answer was add the method to the model and have it utilize the class you build. this way you get the best of both. your model stays readable and not as complex. your class isolates the complexity and simplifies the interface so all you have in your model is
yeah, there was a middle-eastern/asian group trying to farm 0day at one point by putting up a minimal install windows server 2008 and offering prizes for breaches. i suppose they didn't think people holding 0day would know it's worth way more than an ipad or whatever

@jrg har har har. it wasn't a simple checkbox at the beginning of the installer, but it has been available for a while if you do lvm when you add a volume you can check the box for encrypt this partition...

This just automates it from what I've seen, should make more people try it out.
That's weird. Here its only the smurf effect on YouTube that made me disable it there. There should not be too many difference between Ubuntu and Lubuntu.

Now with YouTube, using HTML5 will display with no problem, But other sites that use flash will not.

Alternately, should it be rolled in to the "What are PPAs and how do I use them" question?

@JoshuaRobison if you get a "you can't" answer, check out gentoo. they have almost all packages on arm. i think the answer you're most likely to get is that ARM devices are under-powered typically...so you usually don't run "normal" DEs.
On per-site metas, users are given a rank based on meta participation, and this ranking is seen on the default tab of the users page on each per-site meta. How is this participation numerically calculated to give a ranking? Is it by votes? Something else? What about CW posts?
