Just got a hat for posting 7 up-votes on Mobile called "Cutting The Cord". I also posted a question but it needs "nice question" status so if you want to up-vote it from your mobile to get your own hats hint here it is: askubuntu.com/questions/864574/…
I've recently built my first PC and got it all working (yay!) except for the USB 3.0 ports. I don't think any of the USB 3.0 ones are working, there are some in the MB/back and also a couple at the front, I did plug in the USB 3.0 wire from the case to the mb, and made sure the USB 3.0 option i...
@ByteCommander Congrats on 28K!... I remember the celebration when you hit 25K although it only seemed like yesterday you were just a rep point baby then :p
@Rinzwind Yes he did... I was surprised he was 53 like me.
@KazWolfe I asked that question from my mobile to get a hat and never got one :( It took me like 2 hours to think up that question.
@Rinzwind I haven't read anything on your king, nor recall seeing him but vaguely recall Queen Bea renouncing the throne a few / five years ago... anyway it sounds like you should all be proud of him and nudge him into a more prominent roll in world affairs and if not that, then in the EU at least.
@KazWolfe The only question I can think of.. which would get three down votes... which you could answer... which would then get 3 up votes... would be "Should we put a two dollar bounty on wolf paws to save our sheep herds or is $2 too much"?
Reminds me of best complement I got on a 2 hour answer to toggle touchpad on/off with a shortcit key the OP said "Are you a wizard? I think you are a wizard"... it makes the work here so rewarding :)
@WinEunuuchs2Unix that's assuming someone will be willing send me 50 cents for a joke. I had donate button on my github repositories for months now and nobody donated
@Serg I made something called "MenuManager" 30 years ago that took donations I think I got like 50 bucks... Funny thing is I thought of digging up that Visual Basic and Assembler code and doing something similar in Ubuntu / Linux.
My pendrive when plugged in it is not detected in ubuntu home.I installed ubuntu 16.04 by using pendrive. After that,it is not detected. However, sometimes it could be seen, but immediately it goes off. Sometimes it shows "Sorry, could not display all the contents of “KINGSTON”: Error when getting...
@NathanOsman i did you see tweet about that reader app erlier, did you see that the app has now a isbn scnanner function, this is why camera access was needed
@KazWolfe PHP is a great language if you give it to your enemy. They will soon become exhausted from all of the naming inconsistencies, they will be vulnerable because of the poor security model, and before long, even their youngest children will be "super expert programmers".
@Videonauth no I didn't see that - where did you find that?
@Videonauth Actually when I think of my retirement and what I can do to earn money when I'm not longer able to work in a warehouse due to physical restrictions I thought technical support, help desk, programming or Systems Analysis would be options for income... kind of what many do here no?
When I went to college for Computer Programming and Accounting one of the courses was on Marketing and Business and in that course they stressed finding a "Niche market" and "Networking" I think you can do both here... I know Fabby (or someone liek that) for one wanted to hire Serg (or someone like that) so don't give up hope.
I'm actually thinking of asking at work for a job in Systems Analysis and move out of my Warheouse Receiving job because we just got bought out by a company 4 times our size in Montreal... my point is don't give up hope and you can always try.
You could say my 30 years of software development and now working in a warehouse that just got bought out qualifies as a "niche market"...get the picture?
I will @KazWolfe after I finish this thought to @Videonauth... Today on Al-Jazeera they announced they built a Planitarium Thingy Whatever so Deaf and Blind People could touch and feel the stars. I was thinking why don't they create more IT jobs for the physically limited instead? After all if I can type something here in AU then they can do it to. What does it cost to built a stars plaintarium for the deaf and blind.. 10 million? 100 million?... 1 billion?
but yet they can simply give those people a job doing IT support here, there or anywhere... where people are too busy shopping for shoes or George Michael records to RTFM... know what I mean?
I really hear ya, problem i have right now is that to get a job in Germany you have to have graduated, even for wiping your a**, you need to have a certificate which states you have graduated in it.
and best you have to be 3 years old with 150 years of experience
Closing thoughts Video Authority... 110 million dollars is to made by white helmets that pretend to be from Syria and lie about death and destruction caused by Syrian Barrel Bombs or Russian missiles. You can make a lot of money selling your soul and lying for the almighty sawbuck these days... but it's a short term "niche market".
@Videonauth if you live in Germany send a ping to @Fabby
That will dump them out of the queue. Why oh why do people keep wasting everyone's time on decent, but slightly borderline questions that have already received great answers? Please. Do something that is actually useful.
