Does anyone have problems with Flash videos in full screen mode. Mine's especially bad through Hulu, but only on one machine with Nvidia graphics.
Being still new to Ubuntu - does the desktop support 'widgets' by default or do I need to install something like PlexyDesk first?
we have no widgets really
@jorge this is my progress so far: both caseconductor and caseconductor-ui start and run (with the builtin django webserver only). One just gives me a 404 and the other gives me a huge traceback. :\
I might have caught a bad revision or something. the traceback doesn't look like it should be seen by a user.
hmmm
they told me this thing worked already
let me ping them again
17:20
Compiz used to have a widget-layer...cairo-dock can have docks put onto the desktop like widgets, and you can add them to the widget layer. I'm going to ccsm now...
No widget layer in ccsm on 11.10.
@StefanoPalazzo I get the feeling our QA people just heard "it's being done in django" and assumed it would just work
I suspect the people who set up the demo server on mozilla are the people who wrote it, lol
so did I :)
I'll try a few more things though
Bounty offered: Google Chrome does not keep cookies. http://askubuntu.com/questions/41679/google-chrome-does-not-keep-cookies #googlechrome
@StefanoPalazzo sorry, I was under the mistaken impression that the thing was working and it just needed to be charmed
@MarcoCeppi any other ideas on how we can make this experience for stefano any worse? :)
lol
@jwdinkc there is still a widget layer
you have to install the extra plugins to get it
17:34
at the moment, I'm getting a 400 error for the caseconductor server
with a completely valid looking request
@rlemon plexydesk is crap. Don't use it (I tried it)
code 400, message Bad request syntax ('GET /tcm/services/v2/rest/companies/Test Company?_type=json HTTP/1.1')
no I want to write my own 'desktop widget'
Use screenlets
so either there's a bug, or I really don't know what I'm doing :)
17:35
I have an idea and the c/c++/QML I can handle.... but absolutely no clue where to start.
sec I am trying to find out where they are on IRC
@JorgeCastro they are #caseconductor at sand.mozilla.org (I think)
doesn't look like anybody's there
they tell me #qa on irc.mozilla.org
that looks good, there are people!
yeah I sent some there
balloons is on my team
he's the one who tricked me into thinking this worked. :)

I want to pull a previous commit back... but when I (from the repo dir) git pull it says i'm upto date.

Hi all. Does someone knows if my webcam uses energy if i am not using it?
doesn't use anything if you unplug it.
iḿ asking because i have an acer 3820tg with inbuilt webcam and i was wondering if was still consuming power even i was not using it.
ahhhh. That is a different case. I would post a question on the acer forums (acer website)
That is not OS specific (albeit you may be able to turn it off completely in your specific OS)
Do you know how to do it on ubuntu 11.10?
i think blacklisting the module won't do.
i have hybrid graphics and tried to blacklist the ati modules but is still in use, so, i think blacklist won't do.

@rlemon Check the exceptions in that setting page.
already did -this has been an issue for 3/4 weeks.
ohh - there are no exceptions .
can i have a screenshot of the content setting page?
it's my work pc.
I searched the crap outta this issue and trust me - 100% all settings (in the chrome://settings) are correct for this behaviour not to happen.
it is a legit bug - however blowing away chrome did not solve it.
if i can take a look, may be i can help :/
i'm at home - if I could magically take a screenie of my work pc's chrome->settings page I would to show you that it is all correct.
:D i'm not that good yet.
22:43
ok get me one when you go back to work.
will do.. but I can assure you that the settings are all correct.
that was the first thing i looked into
i just want to see what other settings are different from mine.
there are no exceptions - all cookies are to remember, and all content settings will allow me to save
lol, ok - then I can take a screenie of this chromes settings page - as it is EXACTLY the same (i did that check last week)
and this chrome functions fine (same version of ubuntu)
lol i can wait. don't worry.
btw, your home pc's chrome lets you save cookie data after each session??
chrome data??? huh??
not sure what you mean... but my home pc remembers my cookies and my session data after each browser session is closed (i'm assuming the session data is in fact the sites looking at my cookies)
22:46
so, if you reopen your browser, your logins aren't lost?
if you watch the video you will see the setting for 'forget cookies' is unchecked - however my cookies are cleared on session close.
watch the video
the video is of the work pc?
yes
it is showing what the issue is :P
ok then
common @jokerdino read the Question :P
22:47
now where is the video?
"Common"?
you meant come on? :P
come on
but in slang.
commmmmon man
read the last sentence of my question - i post a link to the vid.
funny, you notice that... but not the sentence in the question that says "a link to the video here"
ok i saw the video.
except for the exceptions part, i can see everything else
and I can assure you the exceptions are blank. there are none - zero - nadda - zip
hmm good luck then. because that is a really annoying thing
now, I had copied my /.config for my chromium to my chrome folder (I can't remember who, but someone told me to do that to sync when not on a google account) - however I have since blown away chromium and chrome and removed all corresponding foldering in /.config
then re-installed chrome and still have the problem.
if it were a settings issue one would assume removing then reinstalling it would bring be back to the defaults.
on a separate note - just loaded the system monitor for the first time since getting my i5 system built.
God I love seeing 4 cores running! it is such a good feeling

@rlemon Lol :) I'll read it.
site list is 166 'items'
page size caps at 100
two requests just to return all sites seems silly.
page size limit was set in 1.0 or 1.1 and has never been adjusted, however the stack network of sites has doubled and the questions/answers have increased by more than 2 folds.
Wait a second.
You do realize that v1.0 of the API returns all sites, right?
No page limit.
yes, I want all sites on 2.0
that is why i tagged api 2.0
Then what's wrong with fetching more than one page?

@GeorgeEdison you can't say you don't agree.. this (if not an oversight) should be corrected to allow me to get all sites.
It's been that way since before there was >100 sites :)
I honestly don't see the problem...
What happens if the pagesize becomes 200 and we suddenly have >200 sites?
then increase pagesize - as the network grows the api should adjust.
that is just common sense.
I politely disagree.
