@flabricorn I dislike mint more for personal reasons than technical. The Mint community has traditionally been rude and unhelpful. On the technical side though, they make enough changes to Ubuntu core that it isn't something I could use.

@Seth minitechme is a good guy.

Is on the repo collab for the Ubuntu book.

And Luke and I are aware of our mutual existence. Fun guy.

Ubuntu and Debian isn't a fair comparison though. We have sent stuff upstream. Don't think Mint moves upstream.

They became "popular" because of some ideological differences in late 2010. aka, when unity started getting attention for the 11.04 release.

Since UbuntuOne is shutting down, what service I could use to syncrhonize my Tomboy notes between my android, Windows, and Ubuntu boxes? Without proper sync'ing, i have no incentive to keep using it. Thanks.

@JorgeCastro Yeah. As I said in the comments, if anybody is subscribed to the mobile tag (in order to see new questions) they'll need to move over as the feeds don't redirect as intelligently (a the feed for "mobile" 404s)
