7:13 PM
Also: back, me iz.

lol
Brilliant ... online UDS and I'm gonna miss the second day of it ...

7:31 PM
yo
@takkat audit ... we got a perfect score

@Rinzwind that's bad... leaves no room for improvements.

jrg
I should learn LaTex sometime.

well yes it does Takkat :D

jrg
means you need to fail the audit next time.
@OctavianDamiean who wait what?

my boss told the auditor how they should improve THEIR audit

jrg
7:32 PM
OH MAN.

@Rinzwind you pay them to find all the bad in your place. If they gave you a perfect score they are not worth the money (==> my approach to quality management audits) ;P

jrg
@OctavianDamiean: That looks awesome.
but i'll miss both days. :(

lol. hmm this was another sort of audit ;-) it was one regarding our software being supported by the biggest government automobile certification providers (they supervice the APK checks we have in Holland). I think it is ADAC in germany?>>
one of those companies that has no power but is so big it is impossible to ignore :D :D

I believe QM audits are all the same. Its like a new religion, only much more expensive. They give you an impressive cert with no value other than showing up "see pleople, we have it".

yeah that is true.

7:37 PM
Where in fact it should say: even we have it, so its of little use to the world.

we on fok.nl are preparing for 13.04 :D :D

\o/ not much time left
@Rinzwind AU as an invaluable help source is missing!!!

true :D
but AU is a 'given" >:)

See? I can read a bit Dutch (if not much)... :)
Also it seems about time to replace the 10.04 videos :)

around 70% of the words should be similar to german.

7:42 PM
@Rinzwind they are - it a Low German dialect anyway. Unforunately I grew up in the south, where the dialect is much different.
Just had a look at the 10.04 video. Leave it for Nixie's sake ;)

probably THAT specific video is there not cuz of Ubuntu but cuz it has a Grrrl in it
@Takkat my idea :S

lol
how can you talk so much with your hands. It's almost as if she were Italian.

:D

@Takkat /me goes to Germany, talks Dutch to everyone and expects German people to understand 70% of what I am saying... not going to happen

@BrunoPereira reading and listening is different, but you should be understood in the region east of the Rhine. At least they claimedf they understand Dutch when I asked them.

7:46 PM
@BrunoPereira Spoken Dutch is considerably harder to understand. Written Dutch, on the other hand ... That's more like being able to understand, say, Italian by knowing French.

where I live (Roermond) Germans WILL understand us.
the dialect here is more German than Dutch :D

@FEichinger Italian and French are so different in pronunciation and writing that that just makes it an awful comparison, but I get the point.

Spanish and Portugese is almost the same

@Rinzwind yeah, ofc, but that is what 20 mins from the border? :P

@BrunoPereira /we go to the Netherlands, talk German and expect Dutch people to understand 100% - guess what: this happens ;)

7:48 PM
@BrunoPereira if you walk ;-)

@Rinzwind agree 100% with that
@Takkat lol, idd, and if in doubt: SPEAK LOUDER <----- always helps

@BrunoPereira hahaha :D

@Takkat in school we had 2 options: english and german or english and french. Most will choose the 1st

@Rinzwind except in Spain they need subs for Portuguese, while in Portugal people are happy to speak, understand and read in Spanish.

any other language would be extra (like spanish or italian)

7:49 PM
(mostly around the border ofc)

But why? France is so much better to spend holidays.

France is a beautiful country. But it got a big flaw...

<-- is going for two week to France this summer again

it has French ppl as habitants

@Rinzwind 50% are not so bad.
;)

7:50 PM
lol

removed for off-topicness

@Takkat Oh, well, Europe treats us either as living money bags, scum, or the occasional "oh ... uh, you aren't all that bad."
While the rest of the world has either one of the stereotypes: "Nazis!" or "Oktoberfest!" ... Neither or which are particularly charming.

I have a feeling this conversation might take the wrong turn somehow... Can we skip a beat?

<-- has already made his obligatory removals

ok ontopic then
who said gimp is bad? >:D

jrg
7:56 PM
Well, you know about the french pocketknife, right?
has a corkscrew on one end, and a white flag on the other.

@Rinzwind thats mypaint right?

yeah D: someone noticed :*

@Rinzwind I was about to say "Wait, there is SAI for ubuntu?" :P
@jrg Oh, you!

jrg
@FEichinger grins
i'm young, full of life. I can make fun of anyone, I'm invincible, I'm 10 feet tall and bullet proof.

@jrg Enfant terrible!

jrg
7:59 PM
@BrunoPereira I think it's "L'enfant terrible", sir. ;)

10 feet tall more sounds like "elefant terrible". crawls into bad-puns-corner
3

@jrg Enfant terrible = you, l'enfant terrible = him

jrg
@BrunoPereira oh. see, i don't speak french.
I speak google and wikipedia though.

@jrg yeah, I have noticed :P

jrg

should that not be trés?

@Rinzwind should, will

8:02 PM

The âccents aré funny. Thèy are bad for a PC program thôugh.

I love how all those French lines needed edits.

@takkat have a look at Chechen :X

@FEichinger meh
6 mins ago, by Bruno Pereira
@jrg Enfant terrible!

@Rinzwind yeah, you have to treat them, don't you?

8:05 PM

Even a simple sort algorithm will turn into a mess.

> The "café" issue
:)

@bodhi.zazen around? Question for iptables is perfectly fine and on scope on the site, feel free to answer. Flag marked useful

OK so the precanned comments is totally broken for me now

8:56 PM
Is this an issue with the URL the script is trying to connect to?

@BrunoPereira OK, thanks. Was curious if you wanted to migrate or answer the question.

@GeorgeEdison "comment-auto-link" seems to be empty

Q: DNS Server error after password change

kevinbpclsThe person who set up our internal DNS utilized an Ubuntu server (10.04) as our primary DNS and a Windows 2003 server as our secondary DNS. None of the people who set this up are still with the organization. The last left a little over a week ago. We changed all of our passwords (we are not in a...

done, tried not to be too long winded, lol

@bodhi.zazen awesome, thx m8

my friend just gave me his old quad core, installing Ubuntu on it now.

@mateo_salta you have friends that give you quad cores??? Can I meet them???
4

you are welcome as always ;)

9:17 PM
@BrunoPereira I could introduce you, but he only had one old computer

@mateo_salta oh, then its ok, you can keep your friends :P

he is a gamer so he upgraded to the i7.

Gui
10:03 PM
@BrunoPereira my friend gave me a qaud core...

@mateo_salta: Were you able to get NitroShare to compile with Clang in the end?
@Gui ...and I'm still running a Centrino Duo :(

Gui
@GeorgeEdison lol we still have some pentium 4 at work

@GeorgeEdison nope, I'm trying to install qt5 with gcc right now

Ah, okay.
I've been playing around with OpenSSL.

I think it is using an old clang, it says apple llvm version 4.2 clang-425.0.24

10:06 PM
For what it's worth, using OpenSSL to generate a self-signed certificate isn't that bad.

cool, one page of code

I expected it to be much worse than that - and it still might be since that code generates a (basically) useless certificate since the certificate does not indicate its valid uses.

proprietary drives installed, so far no driver issues!

10:24 PM
@GeorgeEdison so do i tell it to use "macx-g++" , it looks like the default is "macx-clang" and other options are clang-libc++, g++, icc, llvm, xcode

Hmmm... maybe try macx-g++ first.

10:44 PM
woh, compiz has a color-blind filter, I wonder if we could make it filter all the greens to a more visible color for some

11:03 PM
Yeeeeeeeeesh! I succeeded at getting my Qt app to use my OpenSSL-generated x509 certificate.

11:21 PM
@FEichinger The teeshirts? I guess.
@jrg I didn't say he wasn't did I?

Q: SSH host key keeps changing

Nan LI am trying to set up a web service (using the Play Framework) on an Ubuntu machine on the network. However, I am experiencing intermittent failures connecting to it, not being able to connect to it far more often than not. One strange symptom is that these network problems affect SSH as well, a...

11:36 PM
@Seth I am now grey.

I noticed ;)
Looks nice.
Hmm.
How are you supposed to review when you don't have any close votes left?

Oli
@Seth Flags?

@Oli Custom then?

user19161
@Seth I never visit the review queue. I am still confused how it works.

Oli
@Seth Either that or just skip the ones you need to close and just edit up the things that need editing.

11:40 PM
@JacobBlack Oh?
@Oli Okay.

Oli
The second it probably better as it'll let people get some experience vote-closing

user19161
@Seth Yeah. It's also hard to tell what is "low quality answer" or "not an answer".

Hmm, yeah on Math I guess it would be.
Here on AU its very easy 99% of the time.

user19161
I am now changing my desktop and gmail to grey theme as well.
