on a lot of SE sites, flags will sit for almost 48 hours before they get touched. We keep the average turnaround time on flags to 4 hours for the past quarter and 3 hours for the last month.

And I have just realised I wasted my time.

GeForce cards are notorious for their Linux compatibility. Try instead putting the monitor into your motherboard's VGA/DVI port, remove the graphics card and boot it up again. If that works you should be able to install the drivers from here‌. If that succeeds then you should be able to reboot your computer using your graphics card as normal.
