First, put the patch text in a new file(ie. open g...
all i'm saying is if it's a simple patch to apply, apply it and push it to ppa...then the answer becomes "add this ppa and it works" instead of 5 pages of text

@CoreyWhitaker I think it may be because what you have described goes for basic HTTP auth, not website login. I have a wikipedia account, but if I'm not logged in I get a page that says "no user", but doesn't ask for authentication.
I'd clarify that in the answer, and also put a polite comment asking the downvoter to explain (if you particularly care about the question) --- I've had people explain, and/or reverse the downvote the few times I've felt attached enough to an answer to do that.
@aking1012: I would make the "why is this the right job" section also contain something about how Linux on the desktop needs more docs/help to be adoptable, Ubuntu is better but not there yet, you feel you can help it get closer to this goal, etc.

I'm not sure I grasp what you just said...unqualified b/c of scientific/technical? They need to be written for users, but documentation should in its first phase be written in technical language by the OP of the code. This way, someone acts as a translator from tech to human
