Well, no matter how much I like peanut butter, serving PB&J sandwiches would not be appropriate for a formal dinner, even if I'm the guest of honor. Of course, that doesn't apply hereāhe's not doing anything silly like that. But there is still some question of "is this in the range of traditionally acceptable cakes?"
@Mien possibly, you should try slow cooking them. Maybe that'll break down some "collagen" and make them very tasty. Works with meat, probably worth a try.
@Jefromi well, these are mushrooms I'm ok with @Mien eating, they're made of glass. She found them somewhat tough, so... need to figure out how to make them tender.
An English book tells me that the following sentence is correct:
This publication is made from paper from sustainable forests.
Shouldn't it be of paper instead?
16.45 Alvin & the chipmunks 3 16.30 Cloclo 17.15 John Carter 3D 16.30 Journey 2 17.00 Project X 16.45 They Grey 17.15 The Hunger Games 17.00 The Iron Lady 16.45 The Muppets 17.00 The woman in black 16.45 This means war 17.15 Underworld 4
but question is, the cinnamon i add to the milk and egg mixture always float to the top... and so the first french toast always has way more cinnamon than the rest and it gradually contains less and less cinnamon.
@derobert what i do is I soak the bread in the micture and throw that into my pan and then put the next bread in the mixture to soak while i make the ucrrent one
i can only fit 2 uncomfortably but i usually only do one at a time
Assuming you use only one hand for dipping the bread (so the other one stays clean), you can just put some cinnamon in a bowl, and use the clean hand to grab it and sprinkle it.
Considering you're waiting for it to cook (what about using a second pan?), I think you could actually do it without adding any time overall
I think, if you grab a rest/sprinkle plate, you could do the sprinkle process like: 1) put bread in mix, 2) take bread out, sit on rest plate, 3) put new slice in, 4) sprinkle, 5) remove done piece from pan, 6) put new piece in pan (flipped), 7) sprinkle other side while in pan, 8) go to step 2
No, taste will probably be slightly different. You can get some of that burnt-ness by using heavy jellyroll pans and preheating them in the oven.
or possibly, you can speed up by doing the outside stovetop at a much higher temperature, then finishing the middle in the oven... but this is again, something not worth it until you're doing a lot of toast.
its alright, the most i would need to make is like 8 of them. I only make it for someone else if a) i am trying to impress a date or 2)we had a night of passion
Oh. One other thing to try. Check how they taste if you only put the cinnamon on before serving. That'd be pretty easy. Just put a cinnamon shaker on the table :-P
I mean, first you were inviting me over to have a fight. Now it appears you want a night of a different type of passion. Who knows what the next edit will bring!
@Jay I'm afraid its not going to work out, though. I mean, mushrooms don't have anywhere to stick it in. And also, I'm not crazy enough to get that close to the kitchen of a mushroom-eater.
