"There is no mention of naming ceremony of Lakshmana Kumara" - On what basis you are claiming this..Have you studied all the scriptures? If not, Can you please mention the fact that it is not mentioned in scriptures A, B, C etc... — YDS10 hours ago
I don't get such comments "Have you studied all the scriptures?" First of all, it is Lakshmana Kumara not Rama's brother, Duryodhana's son. Which scriptures will his story be present other than Mahabharata?
I have to write scriptures A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,M,N,O,P,Q,R,S,T,U,V,W,X,Y,Z. -_-
Many Texts associate OM with cosmic creation and that OM is everything. Ganesha is associated with OM and hence known as oṃkārasvarūpa (Aum is his form).
The Ganapati Atharvashirsa states that Lord Ganesha is considered same as the ultimate truth and reality (Brahman).
From Ganapati Atharvashi...
FIRST OF ALL SALUTATIONS TO VIGNESWARA ,DEVI ,KRISHNA & LORD SHIVA
I STRONGLY OPPOSE AND ITS DISGUSTING TO SEE THAT MANY INDIANS DUPLICATE OUR INDIAN MYTHOLOGICAL STORIES BEING WRITTEN AS THOUGH THEY ARE THE AUTHORS OF MAHABHARATHA AND RAMAYANA.TAKING AND COPYING STORIES AND ADDING LIES [MASALA] ...
Please don't hijack the question with other related things like equality and caste.
Only post answers with sources to scriptures that particularly talk about inter caste marriage.
Sources are necessary. Don't make claims without links to sources.
Cite sources with excerpts and explanation.
@AnkitSharma well... There will be some rationals . But we can't judge all of them based on few. Also like I said, in order to get respect, you at least should learn to respect their customs and cultures
And of course if possible learn the language
I see no harm in it
Even I started learning it. When I say people that I am learning kannada , it makes them happy
What if , If I have to change states occasionally, does that means I have to learn each of there language to feel welcomed ? Why Hindi and English not enough
@TheLittleNaruto Is it not better to be nice even when the person 2 doesn't know your language well.
I am from udhampur where mothertounge is dogari but still people are welcoming towards other language people and even use hindi with peopel who don't know dogari
It's always better to be helpful to others and try to speak in common language. I picked a house where the owner of house know only English and Kannada and his wife only Hindi and Kannada but both were so well nature people, it was tough to set three way communication but they always tried there best and that won my heart
Exactly, there are overlapping words between them. Once you learn a similar language, you can try to learn the others. Unlike in south, where all the 4 languages are completely different.
Yes, English has been an unifying factor in the South, because of which there are immigrants.
Tell me, what is the percentage of South Indians you find in Delhi? Even those who are present there, will have to learn Hindi to converse. I stayed there for 14 days, and a few of the Uber drivers there did not even know an iota of English.
The only thing what I really dislike is, the imposition of Hindi on South Indians. Even in the work place, people do not converse in English. They stick to Hindi, and give a condescending look if I ask them to repeat in English.
That isn't fair as well. One of the worst display of attitude was when someone told me that it was because of them that Bangalore has become famous, when in reality it is the opposite.
Just to conclude, we don't hate anybody, we don't want to trouble anybody, but similarly, we don't want to lose our own language. The percentage of people who speak the language is drastically reducing, and we have to protect it's interests as well.
@BhargavRao because most of those driver are not so educated and learned Hindi only. Expecting them to know English is bit harsh but expecting people in south to talk to you in English is too normal
@BhargavRao I have seen opposite of it, imagine we are three people who all know Hindi and english both but in middle two of them start talking in Kannada only, even when it's professional conversation related to work which will effect all three and it happen to me many times in here
@BhargavRao I respect that attitude to respect own culture , I just hate when I hear that "I am not welcomed in Karnataka because I don't know Kannada". In the end I am in India city Bangalore because I am qualified enough to do that work and know enough English to sustain any goo conversation, so ofcoure I have all rights to be here and should feel welcomed.
Recently I was fighting with someone and I got way too angry and told that person that I swear on my parents and my career that I won't ever talk to you... But it isn't possible for stop talking as we are in same college and classes and it's impossible to not even say a word.. Help
@AnkitSharma Interesting, if that's the case then we as a nation, on the whole must learn some basic manners of not to converse in a language which is alien to atleast one member of the meeting.
FWIW, in my office, we've almost never spoken in Kannada, even with others who know. (One of my colleagues was astonished when he heard me speaking in Kannada over the phone, almost 10 months after I joined the company). But, there can be people who do converse in the local language.
@BhargavRao This is what I was trying to tell. Nobody wants to be imposed from someone, that's a human nature. Simple solution is to accept people like they're.
@AnkitSharma I apologize on behalf of anyone who've said that. I think these cases are becoming more and more common in the past couple of years, because people from Bangalore are visiting other neighboring states where, they've not been able to stay for long even if they're proficient in English. It's more like a "monkey-see monkey-do", kinda logic, which is being applied, and I'm quite horrified about it as well.
People of Banglaore have now reached a saturation point where they've generalized the entire North Indian community because they've been used to seeing the attitude of language imposition from long. I still don't think that there's a complete turn-around of Kannada imposition happening (and I don't subscribe to that), but the people have now started to realize that they need to protect their interests (and a few are trying to do that in a violent manner).
All that said, what I feel is that we should just bury the hatchet and move forward. There are weird people everywhere, let's not label an entire city (Bangalore) as unfriendly, nor an entire community (North Indian) as hostile.
@BhargavRao yeah it's not your fault and you don't need to to apologies and I do know many friendly people from here too. My complain is this kind of nature make the vicious circle and it don't end well. From myself I always bash any such nature and I did made many people stop talking in private languages in such meetings.
@BhargavRao agree
@TheLittleNaruto I am not that kind of person and that's why I end up with this dead end kind of arguments regarding religion, region and language all the time :'(
@TheLittleNaruto No your joke is fine, believe your pervy sensai

There is a lot of propagation of the concept of LAW OF ATTRACTION in today's world. The book titled "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne is a popular one that propagates the concept of Law of Attraction and this its application, generally called manifestation.
Does Hindu Scriptures support this concept?...
The Vedas have sacrifices which, when performed, yield guaranteed victory in the next battle fought.
If two kings perform that sacrifice and fight each other, who wins?
@MetaBot If the OP wants to let it delete, then it should be deleted. One of the questions there is not a good question but still it got two undelete votes. What would scripture say about looking at women with lust? It is just common sense.

@TheLittleNaruto I know the answer to your question about burial but it is hard to find sources. That is what stopped me answering your question.
It is said in Wikipedia that "The Vedic period or Vedic age (c. 1500 – c. 600 BCE) is the period in the history of the Indian subcontinent intervening between the end of the urban Indus Valley Civilization, and a second urbanisation which began in c. 600 BCE." Other sources/scholars mention 1200 ...
Burial is common in Shudras. (Sorry for caste remark) but it is truth. They prefer to bury and make a memorial over it. Only Brahmins, other higher caste people are cremated. It is still followed in rural areas. In urban areas, there is electric cremation now. In areas where where there is more rural population, there are separate grounds for burial and cremation.
@TheLittleNaruto Oh!! Yes, I know ameerpet.
Did you work there? Or learn anything? It is famous for crash courses
I believe that you can speak and understand Telugu. There is a famous scolding "Nee bonda" means that you may be buried. Burying means burial, after the bod yis buried, people put mud over the body. This is called bonda pettadam.
@TheLittleNaruto What is it?
@TheLittleNaruto You can say that but its origin is not known.
@NogShine In remote areas, where it is hard to reach people, I found temple and church together and only few houses like 9-10 most. While temple is not managed/cleaned, but church is neat and clean.
I don't want to be religious, but this confused me a bit
That temple is so great. Only few appreciate the architecture and all. Most of them visit it for Rahu ketu pooja, do the darshan of Shiva and Gyana Prasoonamba and leave.
@TheDestroyer Yes, there is Surya Bhagavan before Shiva lingam and came to know that it is a Bhaskara kshetra. No one looked at Surya Bhagavan idol there.
@TheDestroyer Yes, while leaving outside after darshanam of Shiva, there is a small idol facing Shiva. Above that, it is written Surya Bhagavanudu. It is small 2-3 foot idol.
@TheLittleNaruto You will feel invisible divine energy in Garbha Gruha of Venkateswara.. I have felt once. I felt like i was floating in air. My first experience which made me to believe in God.
@TheLittleNaruto We reached the line by 5:00 early morning. If you go by steps path, they will give you a free ticket for darshanam. which is better than free darshanam. We went through both darshans.
@TheLittleNaruto First 6k devotees get free darshanam tickets and are given preference over normal darshanam tickets. It is on new way. In the old way, first 14k devotees are given the tickets.

I'm currently visiting India, and I just went to the Nindra Narayana Perumal Vishnu temple in Thiruthankal. The story of the temple is that Vishnu's three wives Sri Devi, Bhu Devi, and Nila Devi once had a contest to see who had the most devotion to Vishnu. Sri Devi, i.e. Lakshmi, won the conte...
