@DennisKaarsemaker Dunno, don't have that logged. But whatever it was, they fixed it pretty fast... partially since whoever was visiting the site wasn't supposed to be.

@sysadmin1138 That's why it's usually better to let a weaving dissolve instead of picking it apart. Sure, it leaves a viewable residue, but at least it won't blow up in your face.
If I come through this weekend with any SAN points left, I'll be firing their ass. But I still need to maintain good relationships until after all my crap is moved.
@MarkHenderson I remember the good ole days of no kids. We would crank through those things. Three episodes each night, more on the weekends. Still had time to clean the house and go on hikes.

TDI is updating the AD information from SAP and Lotus Notes. Things like First Name, Last Name, email, department, location, etc. Just a little nervous if TDI does something we don't plan on it doing, we could really mess things up. Any way to take a backup/export of all the user accounts including password information and then reimport if things were to go wrong? Just trying to be cautious so open to any suggestions.
@Cole Yeeaaah. We did something almost exactly like that at $oldjob (a university). We wrote the data import process so were less afeared of hinky-shit breaking things.
@Cole This is where I usually tell them "your shit can't touch AD until you prove it in a development environment, and you damn well better log every bit you touch"
@Iain And I still think that it's utter bullshit that the rules are opaque to the participants. If it's not in the FAQ and easily discernable to new users, it shouldn't be enforced.
@ewwhite I've had the exact same problem with some regional ISPs in the US. One client has mail constantly rejected by Bresnan, an ISP in the mountain region. I can only make sure my client is rock solid with their sending infrastructure, SPF, DKIM, etc. and then take each rejected email on a case by case basis.
@ewwhite In those cases I just track down any kind of contact I can find for the email system, or abuse, or support, or whatever. I keep nagging until I get a response and then track down who to talk to. I then save that address and keep bringing it up with them until they block me.
So, @ewwhite, it looks like they're now leaning pretty strongly toward Dell for these servers, based on price. How much cheaper would a... sane... build be?
@WesleyDavid Yeah, even with that, and Ed giving a good price (2k less), it's not enough. I do prefer Dell, but would like to avoid a mixed environment if possible. We have way too many other problems to deal with that right now:
I am trying to have a service running on a Windows Server 2008 R2 be able to execute dcpromo in order to join and remove AD. In Server 2003, I was able to simply use Process.Start() in C# and provide the path to dcpromo and the path to the answer file provided by a user.

@ewwhite Oh, for sure, but from what I'm hearing, switching to Dells is saving even more (and I'm sure that's related to us switching our desktops and laptop to Dell). The bright side of that, though, is that we're not restricted to exact same hardware, so I might be able to sell the idea of a sane HP build, if it's cheap enough.
