that's because probably all of these were academics... and that's their problem, they only see college but not the rest of the world, so they have kind of a narrow view
don't you love it when someone senior sends you an email about a security vulnerability they've become aware of and you can reply back that the whole estate was patched up n months earlier :)
after living all over the world for years my wife and I spent about 9 years in London and it was noticeably warmer than the north west, where we were both born, but having moved from there to dorset it's even more noticable how much warmer it is down here
@SmallClanger thanks so much, even something like this I had trouble to find, now I have a great start, now as you said I will start reaching (and try to contact) these companies
I've got a 'bee in my bonnet' about getting a new PC for 'Crysis 2' which comes out next weekend, wondering about building my own, it's been years since I did that
Exactly. You might want to compare models to be sure, but the 'Extreme' versions tend ot be overstacked on ports and not much else. They all support the same CPU/RAM configs.
I put an OCZ vertex 2 in my MBP recently, I do like it but I don't think it's improved the overall speed that much, loading VMWare Fusion is much quicker though
no, it's about a year old, and while I totally love the tech of thunderbolt/lightpeak there's nothing for it to use right now, it'll be very handy in about a year or two
there will be TB-connected PCIe card expansion boxes but I'm not sure they'd support a decent enough speed for good 3D GPUs as the bus is only 10Gbps either way
what may be the ultimate combination of horrible lyrics, horrible songwriting, horrible auto-tuning (apparently to hide horrible singing), horrible cameos (c'mon, USHER!?!), horrible visual effects, horrible dancing and horrible horribleness. It's so horrible, people are wondering whether the production is real or if it's an elaborate joke.
@SmallClanger it's that Rebecca Black one - in 30 years one of her friends will say to her "Remember when all of your hopes and dreams were shattered by a huge chunk of the world laughing directly at you when your were 13"
I got a good iphone radio app, can't recall what it's called right now
@Chopper3: Indeed. She can probably get the fame, wealth, abusive manager, drug habit, rehab, spiritual awakening, daytime TV career, porn cameo and disappearance off everyone's radars sorted before her 15th birthday.
Maybe she can hook up with the Star Wars Kid or Tron Guy.
Meme-a-pa-looza.
Wow...if @Chopper3 is right, Usher's career is going into the toilet by association...there's a number of hits on the Googles when you pair up the names.
I have an ubuntu server running postgres and a very light weight custom web-server.
I knew this would gonna happen but I was too busy and know the server hard disk has 0 bytes free. Although I don't need all the data in the database and I already deleted lots of rows in some tables, the disk won...
He might get away with expanding the disk size via the AWS control panel, then using resize2fs. Never tried that route myself, though. Lot of risk of loss if you cock it up. :)
@SmallClanger-I generally go by the "if it's a server and you're playing with the partition table..." school of thought.
The "right" thing to do is backup, build new, restore, I think.
The practical thing to do is strap on a cape and sing sea shanty's while enlarging the partition table so if it goes @#%-up then no one will question too deeply how it could have happened.
I dislike Chopper slightly more for making me watch it again to see the rapper pool man...but he's probably right...and it is apparently next to impossible to find out who that guy is.
Jane Hawking (née Wilde), Hawking's first wife, cared for him until 1991 when the couple separated, reportedly because of the pressures of fame and his increasing disability. Hawking then married his nurse, Elaine Mason (who was previously married to David Mason, the designer of the first version of Hawking's talking computer), in 1995. In October 2006, Hawking filed for divorce from his second wife amid claims by former nurses that she had abused him.
@Jacob with the 'cloud' thing going on, there are completely remotely operated infrastructures. And many VPS providers also have sysadmins that work from home. It's just a question of taking time to search.
It winds me up. Opera started doing it a whileback, now I can't type unqualified hostnames into it without it googling for them and asking me if I meanhostname...
Hrm. Is there a no-op tag for chat? :)
Well the installer is much smaller than previously. Yay for that, at least. Does it still make you reboot?
