I wish to simulate a large campus network which contains routers, switches and hosts. What softwares can help me simulate different topologies and measure bandwidth, delay, congestion, link utilization and other parameters
I'm looking for a tutorial or steps to restore an Exchange DB. I had to recover our server using an image a few days old, this has an Exchange DB missing a few days worth of mail.
Before I restored our server I copied the entire current Exchange directory off the broken server. There is no circu...
The IP does no longer respond to a remote ping
With restart I mean:
lxc-stop -n vm3
lxc-start -n vm3 -f /etc/lxc/vm3.conf -d

/etc/network/interfaces

iface lo inet loopback
up route add -net 127.0.0.0 netmask 255.0.0.0 dev lo
down route add -net 127.0.0.0 netmask 255.0.0.0 dev lo...
@WesleyDavid Yes, Iain's right. I think I've found maybe 3-4 good cPanel questions. Most are a nasty case of "HALP! My server's broken and I've not go Clue #1 WTF I should do about it!!!1!"
@mgorven: probably, I'm terrible about that. I also think using a capital I when I mean myself in the middle of a sentence seems pretentious, so I avoid doing so in informal writing. (I make the effort on the SE sites tho, cause people keep complaining about it politely ;p) (posted after hunting down, and applying capital punishment to stray is)

Use the (semi-) official Bastard Operator From Hell Gravatar for a week or a while. I don't think there's any particular reason, it just seemed like a good idea.

@pfo I listened to a radio program recently that suggested this was new-aged twaddle. The main reason being that this is only the end of the 13th Bak'tun and 13 has no relevance to the Myans whereas to Myan's the 20th Bak'tun would be significant.
I have a VPS with one IP Address and i want to rent a new ip address so that there are two VPS servers with there own IP address. So my Question is that what should i do to combine these servers , like web hosting companies provide you two ips to host your site . what should i do in this case. Pl...
I set up framerelay and I can successfully ping from R1 to R2. The problem I'm having is that there aren't OSPF advertisements. I explicitly stated broadcast when mapping the IP's. Here are my configs:
R1:
interface Serial0/0
ip address 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.252
encapsulation frame-relay

What is a good bandwidth and hard drive space for a url shortener with high traffic? For example bitly.com or is.gd ...what do their server's specs like?
@ewwhite Don't forget that ESXi 5 is really ESXi 4.5 - that's what it was designed for - I actually had beta code called exactly that, it's an evolution of 4 not a new version and although there will be changes to the iSCSI (not my thang I'm sure you'll recall) code I doubt it's significantly less stable than 4.
We are working with openstack and kvm for our bachelors test, a few weeks ago they solved a bug in kvm with hairpin mode for IPv4, this caused a new bug where it's impossible to configure IPv6 because the kernel thinks there are duplicates and constantly deconfiguring the IPv6 addresses
I have a server with ESXi 5 and iSCSI attached network storage(4x1Tb Raid-Z on freenas 8.0.4). Those two machines are connected to each other with Gigabit ethernet. The raid-z volume is divided into three parts: two zvols, shared with iscsi, and one directly on top of zfs, shared with nfs and sim...
