I have the licence key for Windows 8 through dreamspark, but is there a way to download windows 8 iso image like you could for windows 7. I am on a non windows machine and so cannot use the Secure Download Manager to download windows 8 using dreamspark.

:-/ I would try formatting it again, full this time. that usually fixes "Bad" sectors on new drive. Short answer is that the sector orobably isnt bad, but has some innacuracy in the platter. a full format (which overwrites data in each sector should fix
