> One day, Fen, being bored meandered away from Lae's daily patrol chasing after butterfly. This led Fen directly to Astrid and Kithri, who were travelling through the forest. Fen instantly bonded with Astrid and Kithri. Meanwhile, Lae was scampering around calling for Fen. Upon hearing the Sylvan, Astrid and Kithri perked up, believing to perhaps meet a pixie in the forest.

> Much to Astrid’s shock, however, it was a damned wood elf! A bitter bickering began between the wood elf and the hill dwarf ranging from ownership of Fen to who is allowed to speak in Sylvan. Their argument was cut short, however, by a hell hound who had rudely interrupted their debate (whom everyone knows Lae had won).

> Lae fought off the monster, but it was Astrid who delivered the fatal blow to the hound. Lae took the tooth of the hound as a prize of his triumph over his long-enemy (though Astrid reminds Lae that it was she, in fact, who killed the beast).

> Lae offered to help the halfling Kithri out of the forest safely, but Kithri demanded that the hill dwarf come as well. Lae relented, and thus their adventure began….

They are polite and slightly shy of new people, mainly due to fear of response, though they are sincerely interested in people they have never met.

If you were aggressively stepping forward, they would back up quite a ways... if not up a tree. ;p

Actually, I am thinking that their reaction would be to say "I mean you no harm!" in Sylvan (probably as instructed by the Book).

What would your reaction be if I made a flower bloom and offered it to you?

A shy smile and a nod of thanks. It would be tucked into the cover of the Book (which is already chock with leaves and flowers and such). And as a return would gesture and make small fey lights of shifting colours dance around Astrid's head.

(I don't think I can make anything permanent o.O)

Oh! Unless... I have a better plan... while the lights are dancing, pulls out a pan pipe and plays it softly while the lights dance around.

So basically, there is a d20 roll... and you add your dex bonus and your proficiency bonus to that to try to get to at least their armour class.

Night! (I will note that I have few ways of improving my AC... elven chainmail could help a ranger and still be stealthy... you need some GPs for that tho :) )

Just noticed I'm proficient in heavy armor... could get Chain mail with 16 AC. Not sure what kind of downsides there are to wearing heavy armor

I can heal you, talk with the local wildlife to get intel, calm down animals, and make sure you don't poison yourself
