Those are relatively few.

Many can (sometimes) use 4.

Most will only really max out 2 cores.

I'm more interested in how the single-thread compares, since they'll have a fair bit of boost headroom without the other 3/4 of the chip running :P

4.0 GHz is 14.2% more than 3.5 GHz... this means AMD is capable of exceeding Intel performance on at least the more lightly-threaded workloads if they get this right.

That speaks volumes.

You only need to create one (and windows probably created a few extra on its own. E.g. EFI filesystem, msblah partition etc.)

Yes: It just feels cleaner to me to do a clean install without any cruft from previous install. That is a pernsonal opinion.

You can even completely wipe the while disk. The windows installer will create the partitions it needs.
And IIRC correctly that is EFI system partition, mssomething partition, /boot partition and the partition for volume C: (so 4 partitions) on its own.

Before you wipe anything. Do you need/want that bit of extra space? If not then why bother?
