@slhck: The thing is, I always edit questions from the standpoint of the author. Not adding personal meaning to it. If I misunderstood that or it doesn't really reflect it he can always rollback, I did let him do that on his post but he started aggravating that in comments and again in his meta question while it actually reflects what I think that he thinks and what is not my original intention.
I've pointed that out to him in a final comment; should've placed this comment right after he did his first comment about his edit, but emotions on his constant pinging / disagreement on .NET while I only pinged the one guy were kind of influencing at that point...
Sides effects of Perfectionism, perhaps, but that's who I am, I guess...

As mentioning in my last comment, I particularly like your aside part. Which is what I am after for some part, doing this in a way more organized fashion solves multiple problems where as all the separate suggestions (rate limit / warning message / permissions) by themselves are way more hard. On the other hand there's nothing wrong with organizing some edits (requiring consensus) we can do together, or trying to audit questions that are hard to delete/decide by yourself/moderators alone...

Yeah, I have some down voted deleted questions there. Mainly random ideas that sound so good but then get cranked down into oblivion; and well, with all the down votes there is no use to keep defending your point. So I end up deleting it when still possible...
I like how the votes are controversial on the edit floods question, wouldn't be surprised to see it at +6 / -7 or so after some days.
I think I somehow should edit my question to reflect your post, but no time for it now.

@TomWijsman: another way to handle the mass tagging thing is not to mass tag at all, and maintain a list of tags that need to be edited as they float up. Its a little more work... but dosen't involve edit floods at all
@JourneymanGeek What do you mean by "as they float up"? Surely nobody will be keeping track or an eye on that. That doesn't get the job done but would just leave it behind, I think. But well, we'll see what the consensus is; if any develops.
this might be an interesting question "Turn off Windows write-cache buffer flushing " for UPS and stable systems only. I wonder if it can be asked without being opinion, or arguing that the flush does not change the speed of anything.

I think if they want a good answer, they would provide more details, than a windows experince index and would tell of what applications they use and what about it exactally seems slow to them. In this one i would like to know if the programs are Minimised? this program uses quicktimes picture libraries, but if QT updates the program is not compatable with it. no problem. bring up QT updater , switch it to NEVER, tell it ok, bring it up again, as see that it switched itself back to 1 week.
mabey it is a problem with the Rusted Installer permissons (spelled incorrect on purpose)
Most of the softwares i have a problem with are ok, my biggest gripe is beloted junk they didnt allow me to say No to, and the lack of GoAway and OFF buttons. Each programmers in thier own universe thinking that they are the only software on the computer.
and a weird one, they couldnt find a legal way to have jpeg code via what is on the computer? When it is uninstalled both of the video programs will not allow a picture to be loaded.
LOL i saw itunes on my sisters computer, bloody mess, but as a user she loved the brainlessness of not having to open a file folder. Asked here where the files were stored, she didnt know ???
@DanielBeck from what i saw, my method of having them in a simple single folder would have been easy , for her she was navigating the interface on that thing like a pro
I guess being old school, i didnt ever think that we need a program with the sofistication of a CAD program to play a chunk of music that is 3 minutes long.
@JourneymanGeek Apple devs have an unfortunate expectation that connected devices work properly, that's true. It's really annoying if the file manager locks up until all your external hard disks finish spinning up for whatever reason even if you don't access their contents.

That reminds me of a story. Guy rents a $300 big screen from me, to show his apple based slidshow at his mothers funeral. He finished the slideshow in QT movie format. Gets to the funeral, hits the play button On his MacTop , and QT pops up and says "you must register and pay for pro" to play full screen.
Also, it only cost money if you didn't know how to circumvent that limitation. (Not referring to piracy, but it was easy to fix using the QuickTime Player AppleScript API)
