@Federico The feedbacks and spam flags are probably the result of people applying "Are job offers spam?" generally. Obviously, that's a Stack Overflow meta, so really only applies to SO. On the other hand, such posts really are spam, as they are designed to promote the thing which the user is interested in (the job, position, task, etc.).
In fact, posting such is using a question to substitute for a service which SE sells in their "Jobs" offering, and for which there's an entire, paid, industry devoted to matching people seeking help in the form of a dedicated person with those individuals willing to provide such help (usually for remuneration of some type).
How such posts are handled are, as far as I know, decided on a site by site basis. However, such posts are promoting the user's thing, without any benefit to the goals of the site (developing a repository of questions and answers which are of benefit to future visitors). So, while applying the spam penalties might not be what's appropriate, I wouldn't consider spam flags wrong on such a post.
Overall, my response to seeing such posts is to delete them, which might be a straight delete or a spam-delete, depending on the circumstances surrounding the post (e.g. the tone of the post, what they are promoting/soliciting for, user's other participation, etc.). I'd mark any spam flags as helpful, or, at most, disputed.
After deleting, I commonly leave a message similar to the ones which you've left on those posts, for which the user will still get a notification. My leaving such a message also depends on the tone of the post. If it's a new user who appears to be confused, I'm more likely to do so than for a user that appears to be here just to promote the fact that they are looking for someone to fill a role, even if that role is just getting someone to volunteer for something I agree with.

Metasmoke on mobile is rough.
Well, not that rough, but feedbacking is.

8:58 PM
Yeah, it'd be a nice accommodation to put some more spaces between those very different feedback options. I should learn how to do web programming again and submit a fix

Do it!

Got as far as github.com/Charcoal-SE/metasmoke/blob/…, now I just have to figure out what language that is and how to hack in spacing :)

@thesecretmaster Yep. I noticed that earlier today (or was it yesterday?). It looks like it's just another place where the code needs a check for nil.

Well, there is a check for nil, just on a different variable (@post instead of post), it seems like a typo tbh but I'm just trying to reproduce it locally before I push a fix.
The problem is that it works locally :P

Oh hm "Hi! It seems there are still plenty of builds running. We're pushing back the shutdown date to June 15th. Please consider migrating to travis-ci.com."

Maybe we should do something about that

10:03 PM
@thesecretmaster That doesn't look like it started a build.

Yeah
I think the creds might need to get reset
IIRC we've had this problem before
cc @Undo
Also re: migration to travis-ci.com because we have 4 days

@thesecretmaster Yeah, I just read that. @Undo MS builds on travis-ci.org. It's going away in 4 days.
ninja'ed....again

[ metasmoke-deploy ] deploy started by thesecretmaster

:P
Just wanted to give it a second shot, but I'm pretty sure it's an API key issue

@thesecretmaster The last I checked, clicking the button on MS didn't work. You have to manually start a build on Travis.

10:06 PM
I didn't think I had access to that button?

I thought you were given access at the same time I was.

It's grey'd out for me
Also, for Undo, here's the docs on migrating. It seems really simple to me docs.travis-ci.com/user/migrate/…

@thesecretmaster OK. Started.

Thanks!

np.

10:14 PM
I couldn't quite isolate the fix, but [dev-on-prod] and I'm fairly certain it's right so I'll deploy my change once your build finishes.
Alrighty, admin flags are fixed :P

\o/
It looks like the JS CI testing is now failing, but that doesn't appear to be caused by your change.

Yeah
I think it's because of the most recent dependabot PR? But the tests passed there
So I have no clue

I think that it's a dependency which has changed. I suspect that it changed prior to the dependabot changes, but that the dependencies were cached, and that now enough time has passed such that the cached version expired. There are lots of deprecation warnings for the packages we're using.

Yeah
We need to update to rails 6 at some point, I don't think that ever happened and would definitely be a good thing to do

I'm not familiar enough to really say. However, my impression has been that we're working on a quite old version of multiple packages.

10:27 PM
That's also probably true
Anything in particular you're thinking of?

Nothing really specific (off the top of my head). IIRC, as you've already mentioned, Rails appeared to be behind by quite a bit, which appeared to drive other dependencies.

I'm not entirely sure, I think they're the exact same except for one is new and one is old
Which is why the migration is probably very simple

@Spevacus My actual "inbox" folder isn't that bad with only about 29k messages, but that's because I aggressively automatically filter messages into folders when they come in. If you're asking only about GitHub messages, I've received somewhere above 50k emails from GitHub. The GitHub messages are in multiple sub-folders which are partially by project and partially by how closely I'm following the project/repository.
