@Spevacus Oh, I think when I clicked on the link, it was vandalized. How do I tell which version I should be looking at?

@ppwater I don't see any reason why it would be spam. I went with NAA

@cigien First, if you've never used FIRE, I personally think it's awesome. Second: The version in that MS link appears to just be normal text, maybe you pulled up an older version somehow? I dunno. Typically we just judge based off of what the MS link shows.
FIRE in particular lets you pull up a copy of the post right from this very page in an in-browser modal, and you can spam or rude flag from it instantly (if grant it write access) as well as feedback at the same time.

@Spevacus I'm not sure. I did click on the post link, instead of the MS link though, so that's probably the issue. I'll start using FIRE, and other scripts to avoid these issues. Thank you.

Well I know that @JeffSchaller just goes through MS. He just clicks the little buttons to feedback and doesn't bother himself with the userscripts. You don't have to use them to avoid issues like that, I just personally recommend it because of how easy it is to use.
Some talk of adding to what's there (example, "fpu-" feedback, quick watches for domains, and others) has happened, but no ETA. I might take a look at the wishlist and see if I can't contribute :)

I'm not averse to making my life easier. I'll try the scripts out at least, and see what works better.

Coolio. Last bit: You can change your feedback on a post that you've already feedbacked on by heading into the MS report and clicking on the new feedback type you wanted. This'll overwrite your existing feedback and replace it. So no sweat if you have second thoughts :)
You'll need to refresh the page to see your old feedback be replaced. Inline, it'll just look like you added to it.

That I did not know. And yes, I needed to refresh. Thanks so much.

Since Smokey's API quota was upped to 20k, has it ever used up all of its requests in a day?

@NobodyNada There seem to be about 2.5k posts in the MS review queue. I was thinking of going through that to get a better sense of things. Are there limits, or any constraints on reviewing in that queue?

4:23 AM
@Spevacus not that I'm aware of, a chat search doesn't seem to indicate any time we ever ran out of requests

@Spevacus Not that I'm aware of. It is, however, something which we are aware of, and for which we select the queue depth used for the various sites. If there was no queue, then we would run out of requests on some days.

Batch sizes are chosen somewhat-carefully so that we can catch posts reasonably quickly while still having some margin to avoid running out of requests
@cigien mainly just the feedback guidance!

Seems to be smartly done, then! I think today was the most I've seen used at 5748 requests remaining, not that I've been keeping close track.

4:32 AM
@NobodyNada Understood. And yes, the reviews being tricky is part of the appeal: I learn better when I see lots of corner cases, plus I'll get to ask lots of questions ;) Thanks.

Should've seen us all when the Barbequeue was in full force. 8+ month old reports throwing us for a serious loop.
Some of those feedbacks are what powered watches that catch spam we wouldn't have otherwise snagged to this day. Really glad how it worked out.

@Spevacus I made a couple iterations of adjusting the queue depths near the beginning of last month. I've been closely monitoring the number of used requests since the end of October.
It came to my attention because there were a couple of sites which had a substantial queue depth defined (10), even though they did not have that much traffic. At this point, all sites, other than SO and math.se, have a queue depth of 1. SO has a queue depth of 3 and math.se has a queue depth of 2. So far, that has been resulting in an acceptable range of remaining quota at the end of the day.
Even if the active SD instance did run out of SE API quota, the worst case is that we could switch to a different instance, which would have a new 20k quota.

@Makyen I didn't know about this part. That's awesome.

@tripleee or (as the sender of that flag) the handling moderator may have erred only deleted the answer that the flag was directly on, and missed the virtually identical answer linked in the flag text.
Pure speculation, of course, but one answer along those lines was in fact deleted from that question.
The other may have been deliberately or unintentionally left up.
