Something that spammers will sometimes do is post a pretty decent answer, but shoe-in a spammy link at the end or constantly refer to their own website without providing disclosure.

If they happen to link to their site once and it's not just promoting their site, you can ask for them to provide some disclosure. If they just don't listen to you, a spam flag on such is typically marked helpful, though a mod flag would also be nice so you can explain to the mod that there's undisclosed affiliation.

Repeated undisclosed affiliation is an okay signal for you to spam-flag their posts to death, though. At that point, it's not at all in good faith.

Oh, one last note. If you find some old spam that isn't super obvious, a mod flag is preferable, even if the spam spans across multiple answers/posts. Just explain how there's undisclosed affiliation/a trend of product promotion and link to all relevant posts (if you can fit 'em).

Over the next few days (Dec 6 - Dec 10) there may be intermittent blips in Metasmoke - both the system itself and the DNS records - while I do some internal system restructuring for IP addresses and forward/rDNS internally so I can ID things better on my network - including MS.
