Bottom line: in the vast majority of circumstances, it doesn't matter.
If I would've been able to downvote that Chinese.SE answer, I would've noticed it wasn't gone the next day and had posted a 'still alive' message here.

@iBug the container it runs in is allowed a max of 768MB, it's eating 768+120swap. might be an errant monitoring process but I'm too lazy to check

Hmmm, one single python3 binary taking 768M RES + 120M swap?

doubtful but Smokey has the huge percentage of that

Could be a memory leak somewhere or whatever?

bare container on its own eats maybe 68MB
I'll have to check.
simplest solution is to kick that container into an off/on cycle
which takes like 8 seconds
there, the container's behaving now, looks like it was queueing updates and eating RAM in the process

@FrenzyLi Please see my comment on the PR for this blacklist. Basically, that 2 TP doesn't qualify for the blacklist, and that the regex isn't properly formatted. In addition, the regex being improperly formatted resulted in leaving the already existing watchlist item in place. If you're going to use a different form for the regex, then please remove the duplicated watchlist item.

PSA: just because an answer contains the word "shit" does not make it R/A. Just edit that shit out ;)

depends on context, though - if it's NaA already and needlessly swearing I'd be more inclined to flag as R/A

I will decline your R/A then. That's not what it's for
Either way, I've noticed a few people from here/who hang here doing it lately but I didn't want to "call" anyone out specifically.

@Seth Why? Swearing isn't acceptable on SE, and if it's a useless, swearing post I really don't see an issue with red flagging.

@Mithrandir R/A is for things that need to be deleted as R/A. If I'm not going to delete it as R/A then it shouldn't be flagged with it. Just because a post contains the word "shit" or "fuck" is not a reason to delete it much less flag R/A. Edit it.

I thought we weren't supposed to edit stuff that will be deleted anyways?

fp- by Mithrandir

(i.e. just flag NaA and move on instead)

8:40 PM
@JohnDvorak that's fair
The big reason to carefully use R/A is because it comes with lots of consequences.
I'm not going to take out a 100 rep penalty and just adding spam blocks to someone because they said fuck

@Seth Of course it's not a reason to delete it if it's otherwise useful. Someone posting "this f---ing s--- doesn't work" seems quite R/A to me.

that was today's. There was another just a few days ago but it's long since lost in the depths of flags.
The word "stuff" was "shit".

8:43 PM
I agree that's just NAA

Okay, yeah. That I wouldn't hit with R/A either. Point taken.

@JohnDvorak yeah I'm probably going to convert it to a comment here in a sec. But I'm not going to throw a 100 rep penalty, auto downvote, and feed it to spamram for "shit".
@Mithrandir :)

fp by Grant Garrison on Is there any cure for diabetes? [MS]

@Seth I have no idea who flagged that as R/A. If you say it was someone from here, then it was. However, the MS post record indicates that the only feedback (doesn't equal flags, but is indicative) was FP (from myself), which would indicate that A) not that many people saw it, and B) those that did didn't think it was flag-worthy, or were unsure as to what to do with it.
Personally, I felt it was potentially NAA, but I've seen a few AU posts that are mostly/wholly lists. Iit appeared related to the Q, so I felt it was better to leave it up to site members to decide what to do with it.

I'm not really worried about who did it or why. Just trying to save them (and by extension me) the trouble.

9:02 PM
np. I'm mostly just giving people here more context wrt. the specific instance you mentioned.
You should probably also be aware that many (most) of the people here would be flagging with a spam flag rather than R/A, under the direction from Meta that the two types of flags are basically synonymous. The tools which we currently have available make casting a spam flag significantly easier than an R/A flag. Thus, if people here cast R/A flag(s), then they probably put out more effort to do so.

@SmokeDetector This is spam. The user is saying they've downloaded something from their own site (undisclosed affiliation) and now are asking how to install/run it on a PC and "find and apply Cheats". Affiliation is presumed based on their username matching the domain name and their avatar promoting the domain name.
