Q: When confronted with spam in the LQP queue, should I press 'delete' or 'looks okay'?

MithrandirSince there's no spam option in the LQP queue, you have to go outside of the queue to flag as spam. This leaves you with the review, though... What do you press? Pressing 'delete/recommend deletion' isn't optimal, because spam should be flag-deleted, not VTDed. However, 'looks okay' can look lik...

Thanks, I was just getting a fourth opinion because some f our users insist that this is clear spam. (They probably never have seen actual blatant spam …)

not really relevant to the question: "How do I translate ... to english?"

It is relevant because knowing why they want to translate a specific phrase is relevant.

hmm ...

@Vogel612 Context matters for translation. Of course, the context needs more context itself, and elaboration is needed (hence the question is closed). But I see no reason to assume spammy intentions.

@Vogel612 You need Reviewer role on Metasmoke.

@Vogel612 Ping a MS admin if you want.

It would be more intuitive to accept the auth-token and ignore the input from non-reviewers

there's already a search on the admin permissions page, but that's kinda not very useful unless you're an admin
likewise for flagger overviews

@ArtOfCode Yeah, I figured there would be for applying roles to people.

2:45 PM
lol ... "Last ping was in a few seconds"

yeah, Smokey time travels

2:59 PM
@ArtOfCode I wonder if the admin role needs differentiation

@Magisch hm?

currently admin has responsibilities pertaining to pings, project decisions and mundane tasks like invalidating feedback
ideally you'd have seperate roles for that
SRP and stuff

kinda, but also more work to maintain... they are all technically "administrative" tasks

right
maintaining the blacklists is too technically
yet there's a rank for that
sides' admin, every major task has its own role

Why are some users' names blue and why is Smokey's italic?
Looks like blue = mod, but what about italic?

@iBug You mean here in chat? well blue usernames are moderators on any SE site
about the italic no clue :)

@Videonauth It's probably because the user sets a site where he's a mod as his "parent site".
I think if one sets a site where he's not a mod then the name won't be blue.

As a mod, you have to have your parent site as a site you have a diamond on. Italic means they are a room owner.

no as soon as you have a diamond beside your name youre a mod in all chatrooms

3:24 PM
mods have all the privileges that a RO (room owner) have as well.
Apart from SO, that's a special case. I have no moderator abilities on Stack Overflow chat rooms.

And meta.se

I forget Meta.SE has it's own chat setup. Apart from Tavern I don't really go there

@Henders chat.meta.SE is a special domain.

@ArtOfCode Queen's models come to 5 MBs total and it takes about 300 ms to load them (if the lambda was cold)
So those can actually be on disk I think
@ArtOfCode something I was thinking was that if we keep Inferno as generic as possible, we could move the blacklist PR and domain tags to Half-Life and make it a little dashboard

@quartata ...but we've already got metasmoke for that

[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Potentially bad keyword in answer: Is it always necessary to use two cameras to find the distance between camera and object? by a deleted user on dsp.SE
fp- by Glorfindel

@ArtOfCode odds are about 64% that this will depreciate MS
Otherwise what's the point of making the bot-defined templates for post views and all that

@quartata until inferno replicates all the functionality in MS, MS is staying

No I know. I'm saying down the line
If Inferno is something any bot can use and provide a dashboard, I would prefer to keep the Smokey specific services (i.e. domain tags) separate. Half-Life is a good candidate for expansion since it does most of that already

4:53 PM
Some suspicious YouTube redirects in Metasmoke...

@ArtOfCode Mind making the db dump thing dev-only for now? Then I can deploy and we can test it out

@quartata or... ya know, just keep metasmoke

What would it do?
If Inferno holds all the posts and feedbacks

duplicating metasmoke is one of those "totally a weekend proj OH NO HALP TOO BIG grrrrrgle ermph marph uggggh"

@Undo done

5:00 PM
I mean, this isn't really a duplicate

deploying

@quartata TL;DR: Keep metasmoke until Inferno does everything MS currently does. Don't split metasmoke into Inferno/Hafllife before that.
we have a good, working thing, breaking it in a move before we need to is a bad idea

That goes without saying
Especially since I'm still more or less spitballing on what to do about autoflagging
Some bots produce a score right away (Natty)

hey, if we can move metasmoke into two generic services I'm all for it. But it's the same story as NG: have to see it work first, and there's no guarantee it ever will.

Some bots need data they don't have for their score (Smokey)
