Ooh, Java made it to number 1!
Funny thing is, that list probably never changes from year to year ;P

Lol, Objective-C and Android.

ah, I just love how my chemistry teacher gets after me saying that he'll get me suspended for asking that physics question about lightning. "All your cute little privileges will be gone" :P

Oy @hichris123
@hichris123 ... the image at the top of that is of a spreadsheet :P
spreadsheet != code
Heh.
Well, the screen does have "Push notifications" on it.
I guess that works

@Undo ... context? (:D)
@Doorknob context == online chemistry class with a terrible teacher.
Also, does a little celebratory dance for Puzzling getting ahead of Embedded Systems in committers
@Undo Linky?
no linky
or... linky to what?
The question
oh

Q: Does lightning have mass?

UndoMy chemistry teacher/book states that lightning is just light, and therefore has no mass and takes up no space (we're not very far through the book yet, it's defining matter). However, I take issue with this statement - it feels wrong. My reasoning is this: Lightning, as far as I know, is simply...

21:13
Lol, what's wrong with that question?
I mentioned that it was my chemistry teacher :P
> YOU NEED TO DO THIS AND THAT OR I WILL EMAIL THEM AND YADA YADA YADA AND YOU NEED TO REMOVE YADA YADA
IIRC he even tried to suggest a.... low-quality edit :P
"Email them"? :P
To get me suspended or something :P
21:16
Haha what was your reply?
I didn't say anything to him.
(this was pre-me-being-blue)
Otherwise I would have turned my camera on and put my hat on :P
Oh, hello @Doorknob.
Hey @hichris

A: Provisional Moderator Nominations

gerritI'm Nominating: Neo Neo has been an active participant and has shown an interest in the site. Accept Thank you for nominating me. I would be a bit weary of accepting this position if receiving enough up votes: I haven't been super active on another SE (though I plan to be active he...

^ Any idea on comment cleanup there?
21:44
Hiya all!
@hichris123 Hmm another mod handled a flag for that over 10 days ago... :/
These are obsolete because Neo pointed out which ones they closed:
@AnnonomusPerson, As a moderator, can't you see which questions Neo has voted to close? I can't because they have been re-opened since so that data is gone. But I think every question of mine that was closed Neo had voted for it, and they have all been re-opened except 1 or 2 which have remained closed and rightly so. My point is those other questions would have remained closed if he was a moderator. Let anyone be a moderator but Neo, please! — Geodude Apr 23 at 3:05
earthscience.stackexchange.com/questions/243/… (This one rightly closed in my opinion, but why did Neo answer it before casting his close vote?) — Geodude Apr 23 at 3:12
@AnnonomusPenguin Yup, it was helpful to that flag & helpful to a PostTooManyCommentsAuto flag.
Another set of obsolete comments (Geodude was confused):
Moderator's close votes are binding, and therefore had Neo been a moderator, none of the questions that were closed previously would have been re-opened as they should have been. — Geodude Apr 23 at 3:03
@Geodude since when are moderator close votes binding? Yes, it only takes 1 mod vote to close a Q, but you can still re-open it the same way as if users had closed it. — casey ♦ Apr 23 at 3:54
@casey, earthscience.stackexchange.com/help/site-moderators it says "Moderator votes are binding. Any place we have voting — close, open, delete, undelete, offensive, migration, etc — that vote will reach the threshold and take effect immediately if a single moderator casts a vote." — Geodude Apr 23 at 3:58
@casey, perhaps they got the wording wrong when they said moderator votes are binding? — Geodude Apr 23 at 3:59
@Geodude yes, that means the mod vote counts the same as 5 user votes, it however, does not mean the community cannot overrule it. A single diamond can close a Q, but 5 community members can re-open it. Binding just means it takes 1 mod to perform actions that take many community votes. — casey ♦ Apr 23 at 3:59
@casey, that makes me feel a bit better. However I still don't support a moderator who is trigger happy with close votes, given they can close, or even delete a question immediately without community support. — Geodude Apr 23 at 4:00
11 deleted coments should help a little bit @hichris... by the way since it's not being used anymore cleanup doesn't really matter beyond what I posted. You might also want to lock it for historical significance: IDK.
Possibly, I was thinking of [status-complete]'ing it. Not sure though.
@AnnonomusPenguin True, but that's the most commented post on meta. :P
@hichris123 Yeah, you can't really do much. There were some valid points, but Geodude didn't have to add five comments that should've been one, and very short if he did markup.
@Undo I thought you were homeschooled... your mom stalking your SE profile??? :D
huh wut?
21:56
@AnnonomusPenguin Hmm... I could mod-edit it and make the rest obsolete. :D
@AnnonomusPenguin oh no, it's my chem teacher stalking me :P
@Undo But aren't you homeschooled?!?!
@AnnonomusPenguin yeah
ooops :P
ping fail
So how do you have a teacher? Do you take some classes at a high school or what?
online teacher
Just for chem
21:58
Hmm.... they know your username??
My chem teacher? I linked him to the phys question
(We probably should remove this conversation :P)
@Undo Ahh nvm
