@Makyen why FP?

@SmokeDetector The question is explicitly asking for free writing tools. The linked page appears to be a set of free writing tools (i.e. exactly what the question is asking for). I haven't found any undisclosed affiliation. Thus, not spam, even if it's a site we've previously seen in spam in other posts.

I still NAA-flagged it on the site.
But probably tp here.
Does that count as posting in a foreign language? :)

@DanielWiddis it's intentionally obfuscated to make the reader jump through hoops to get the answer. so TP/RA seems apt.

well it's deleted now.
I'll remember RA for next time.

!!/watch thetopsites\.net

@DanielWiddis You don't have blacklist manager privileges, but I've created PR#4940 for you.

@metasmoke Added comment to the PR. thetopsites.net scrapes/plagiarizes SO content. We may want to review metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/domains/59973

6:58 PM
@DanielWiddis I'd guess people just Google things, see those links, and post them without knowing they're fake

@NobodyNada Agreed, which makes me wonder what we should do. Edit the posts (if not deleted) to point to the relevant SO post? Do we tag as tp, but not penalize the user who didn't know better?
Makes me want to get on my horse, grab my lance, and go tilt at some windmills.

Meh. Maybe that's fp. On the fence. Question attracts these answers but they're marginally answering.

@DanielWiddis Do you mean a comment that people see when evaluating if the watch PR should be approved? If so, then leaving a comment on the PR is probably a good way to go, or you can leave a comment in chat and reference it in the PR.
If you mean that you want to include a (short) comment within the actual watch, then, yes, the regex package we use supports PCRE comments. Such comments are in the form (?#Your comment here, which can not contain a close parenthesis) as the first close parenthesis will end the comment.

@Makyen Thanks, I did comment the PR, note in chat, and eventually figured out the regex version after already submitting the PR.

Somewhat dumb question for the room. Why is there a - at the end of NAA- and TP- and FP- @metasmoke

@Glorfindel do you have a recent dataset for Hot Network Questions where I could compare display_score (as found in the mobile feed stackexchange.com/hot-questions-for-mobile ) with calculating the score based on the publicly known algorithm, documented here: meta.stackexchange.com/a/61343/158100?

@bmike It suppresses some feedback to the room, despamming chat a bit.

@SmokeDetector fp

7:37 PM
@DanielWiddis Registered question as false positive.

@bmike ^^^ that's what happens without the -.

@bmike (additional/ninja'd :) ) The - means "SD, don't reply to this in chat to tell me you've done what I told you." See Silent mode and aliases. Including it is a little redundant when giving feedback via the MS API (i.e. through userscripts), but it's still often sent with the -.

Falling behind in the monologue race. :(

@DanielWiddis You gave a real-world example. That's a good thing. :)
@bmike Note that the - can be added to the end of most SD commands to suppress the chat feedback with which SD would normally reply.

Thank you !!!
I was really confused since I was thinking it negated the report, not that it squelched the chatter
I’ve used ! for that in the past as in - this is the command, end of transmission
but I bet you’re all used to it by now

@Makyen Hmm, I've been using vand but it's not on the list. But I think it still works.
@rene that decrements the post to the earlier version. (Ooooh, hey, would be great to do that via API for a vandalism rollback!)

@DanielWiddis I don't believe the SE API provides a method to perform an actual rollback. That appears to only be only available through an SE-internal endpoint.
@bmike Thanks. Yeah, I've always been ... less than thrilled with how that ends up formatted on the Wiki.

@Makyen probably not something you want to do without viewing the previous version anyway.
