@ThomasWard If Makyen is offline and doesn't answer shortly his preference is to use Solar since it has more history.

@ThomasWard This specific behavior of 1/2 hour breaks? Yes, so far. However, other instances have failed in the last while, which may, or may not, be related. It's also not clear that any other instance has had sufficient time being active in order to have demonstrated the problem. I have noted some timeouts on ping responses for my instance, and was also noting some timeouts in FIRE's accesses to the MS API. I've also rebooted MS about an hour ago, so that may affect repeatability.

@Rob Actually, most recently I chose to go with Lunar, in part to see if there were similar problems. However, after rebooting MS, going with Solar might be the better test, to see if the problem remains after the MS reboot.

Yes, GN. See you after you are rested.
In Firefox typing "about:crashes" and choosing a Report produces wonderful, beautiful, useful information like this: crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/… - which clearly shows the problem.

3:04 AM
@ThomasWard ssh access might be useful. I'm not sure I'm the best one to do the debugging. I'm willing to take a look at it, but I have almost no Python experience and only started running an SD instance in the last few days, so would be going off of general programming/networking knowledge.

with clear steps to repro, I'd do some debugging if I had time, which I may or may not

I don't have Python experience either, but I am generally familiar with SD's codebase, and I've had some luck diagnosing tricky issues before

I saw no 'just son' on the page - but couldn't read it (didn't translate it) to see if the fine print said that the extra s is optional. Thus Anderson and Andersson are two different names (especially in North America where each name is spelt one way for each individual) ,- you're not allowed to do whatever.

Rob
OK.

@Rob you are not allowed to change the orthography of your legal name willy-nilly but regional and historic variations exist
including some decorative neologisms, there was a famous painter who changed his last name from Eriksson to Erixon for effect and possibly humor

In North America there's no collapsing, ah same there.

BTW, so more people know: Solar was having some problems earlier where it would work for 2 to 5 hours then disappear for very close to 1/2 hour and come back and work fine. I rebooted MS (there were other indications of MS problems: intermittent timeouts in FIRE and some timeouts for ping response in my SD instance). We're currently seeing if the 1/2 hour breaks continue on Solar. Other instances handled failover just fine when Solar went away, so if it happens there shouldn't be much of a blip.

Rob
Is it best to use Solar and standby the rest, just let it failover. Or should we use the others and standby Solar, let it work if it's turn comes up?

@Mithrandir np. If you still want something close, I'd suggest ^(?!.{1,7}(?:dl?san|(?:dl|ld)l?son)$)\w{5,}l?dl?(?<!david)(?<!richard)(?<!hud)(‌?<!tedted)(?<!ALoved)(?<!the_grand)(?<!Maksued)s[ao]n$ (Be careful with copy-&-pasting that as SE may add some invisible characters in that regex.). That regex avoids the FP which we've seen so far, while catching those TP I believe were the original target. However, it doesn't catch some TP that appeared to not be the intended targets.
I don't really think the watch is needed, as all the posts are well covered with other detections. But, if you want it, the above regex should get significantly fewer FP (no FP from what we've seen at this point).
