This doesn't look like anything to do with the 4 flags thing, looks like a threading thing. It's claiming after_create got called twice within half a second

@ArtOfCode I'm inclined to do one of: (1) Stick the call to autoflag in PostController.create so it won't be called twice ever, or (2) call fetch_revision_count in PostController.create (looks like that's the culprit causing the save)
thoughts?

Probably autoflag from the controller (new thread, if that works without messing tests up)

1:53 PM
fuck Rails I swear
I spent over a month on utoflagging last time we had something like this
the whole after_create vs after_commit thing is such complete garbage

eeeh
they both have their uses

neither of them work correctly

depends how you define "correctly"
they work pretty fine for basically everything we do
what it does need is a callback that doesn't affect the transaction

Now to find out how well our smtp server handles sending 80k emails at once
wish me luck

after_create occurs too early, after_commit occurs too late and also triggers stufd like this

1:58 PM
yeah, it's stupid
probably the most stupid part of Rails

wherever you trigger the callbacks someone's going to complain they're timed wrong, though

So to summarize what happened here is that a trigger went off twice and triggered more then 6 autoflags that way?

triggering this kind of thing is dumb, but that could be dealt with by making after_commit on: :create only fire on create instead of twice for some dumb reason

slightly more complicated, but yes

Has this ever happened before?

2:00 PM
nope

We're over 100k autoflags in right?

just under I think
95139

but, we're at over 96k tp's (update room description?)

no which is why it's not because of the revision fetch. it's almost certainy because of the fake FlagCondition query starting a new transaction (it gets saved right)
@WELZ flags not posts

@quartata Doesn't get saved; only the model initiated and asked for accuracy

2:02 PM
@quartata Yes, we have over 96k tp posts.
Can we add a page on status which just give quick (all-time) totals? (Instead of all these hacks I use to find them)

@Undo that would be enough to trigger an after_create but not an after_commit

Without going through the last few hours of transcript, is the autoflagging thing fixed? I just made it to my notices and saw that it was turned off. (I'm starting through the transcripts now, but it looks like I have about 4-5 hours to go through)

@Undo FIRE doesn't work properly, and someone suggested I withdraw MS access to my SE account and then re-grant it to see if that makes a difference. But I can't find anywhere to regrant it because MS doesn't prompt, and there isn't an "authorize app" button on SE or something similar in MS. On the network tab, if you click on the request, you have around 5 tabs on the top, "Headers", "Preview", "Response", '"cookies", "timing". If you open the tab "Preview", you should be able to see the actual error from MS, can you confirm this?
