Kinda astounded by how much t2.mediums cost
No point in parallelizing any of this code I guess if it costs $33 a month just to get a machine with more than one core...

you can usually run two or three Rails apps on a micro - I'd probably run this on a dedicated micro so that it's got the resources for all the extra bits, but still

I don't see the difference.

@Glorfindel there is no difference. I pulled them from the API; titles are identical

My autoflagging I put down by 10 to 190 and my flags are right up from 1 to 4 a day now :)

That's also (mostly) coincidental.
There are not so much posts with a reason weight between 190 and 200.

SO by the looks

@JakeSymons It's got edits, and it owns a few upvotes... somehow

@Glorfindel The mysteries of Smokey explained :)

@Glorfindel got a link?

Eh ... no. I remember it was an iOS question.
Undo or Andy can dig it up.

cc @Undo

It could probably be found in Smokey's rep changes

8:59 PM
I don't understand why the heck that was deleted

We had a discussion about it in SOCVR, AFAIK.
But I don't understand how it could be marked as spam/rude/abusive.

Wish I was there for that. You can't just close something with 20+ upvotes and 2k views as "this one was resolved in a manner unlikely to help future readers."
@Glorfindel it's not, 10ker delete

o.O
@Glorfindel test spam flag from 2016

9:02 PM
And no, it's not somebody who edited the question to make it look like that.

System sees "deleted" and "helpful spam flag" and applies that message
If it was really deleted as S/R/A, you couldn't vote to undelete

I remember the discussion was something along the lines of 'this post has an unnatural vote record, so it must be deleted before questions are going to be asked'.

oh good grief
we literally hashed that one out on meta. Remember when I got in trouble for trying to just give it bounty rep? "Oh no no no, you have to post stuff with it" "But that'd be unnatural voting" "Doesn't matter"

could just undelete it
defer to another SO mod if you like

yeah, I probably will
Don't know how that flew under my radar

@Andy Didn't Undo ask for it?

9:07 PM
what on earth
@ArtOfCode No I know, I certainly don't need all that memory. But having an extra core would have been nice

yeah, this is just weird.

I don't understand why it scales so funny

@quartata it'll run just finer without

@Undo and it's back

9:22 PM
I'll vote on it in 2 hours :)
Thanks guys for bringing it back, glad I brought that up now :)

@JakeSymons Smokey doesn't need more reputation.
It just needed 200 reputation for the first autoflagging tests, but even that isn't necessary anymore.
All it needs now is 20 reputation to be able to chat.

Well, still glad the questions back :)

@Glorfindel I think it's still on SOCVR's write access list anyway

oh, probably.

9:43 PM
@Glorfindel could this go on ask different?

It's probably a dupe but I have no time searching for one right now.

Disappointing -- Redis doesn't have GETSETBIT
I think maybe I won't use a bitmap
...of course Redis also doesn't offer a way of expanding lists easily

@quartata what are you trying to do?

I have a list of booleans for when the bot interface functions need to be refreshed (because of a config change)
I was going to use GETBIT/SETBIT but it's not technically threadsafe to get a bit then set it back to 0

...why does it need to be threadsafe?
this ain't multithreaded

10:57 PM
Sure it is. If a request comes in to update the config in between the GET and the SET to 0 and for some reason it's not rescheduled until after the SET to 1
The update would be ignored
It needs to be reset atomically

...I'm just gonna let you do it and then see if I can think of any other way to do it :P

I don't think lists have a GETSET either
So what I'll have to do is use the ID as a key
sucks

Q: How to report casually voting?

Yes, of course. Do you have a specific question? ", then i got 3 downvote...

And can't you at least write your own abuse rather than just C&Ping from Reddit?

@ArtOfCode "the internet is full of idiots"?

Rob
Oh, you already caught that ;)

@Randal'Thor spammers are dumb

@Rob I didn't want to Google the text to find the exact page, but it was pretty clearly from Reddit.
@ArtOfCode Oddly it had 3 flags as spam rather than R/A, by people I recognise from here. I guess those were autoflags?

@Randal'Thor these people? Or different people?

@ArtOfCode Yep, those people.

11:52 PM
@Randal'Thor those were indeed autoflags

Thought so.
Not that it matters really.
Maybe there even was some spam, somewhere in between all the rude words.
