@hichris123 k is an alias of tpu- right?

Yep.

@QPaysTaxes Yes.
(and I still think links to one or two pages like that one should be pinned in here)

Even if they are I can't see them on mobile

Hmm, I wonder @soup: is there much Cyrillic spam? If not, maybe we could exclude Cyrillic from mostly non-latin?

@Randal'Thor look at the pinned message, I added a wiki link

@ArtOfCode Oh, nice. Thanks!

Hey, random, mostly hypothetical question. Would I be allowed to put a bot in this room if all it did was blindly record messages? Maybe with an opt-in?

I'm working on that sentence generator thing and I realized that I could have it stay up-to-date, and avoid scraping transcripts, if I had it listen in.

@QPaysTaxes probably? Would need more detail. What are you thinking of?
Transcripts are public anyway, so if all you're doing is recording messages I don't see a problem.

@ArtOfCode That's about as much detail as there is. It's still a rough idea. The basic concept is that the bot would listen in on a few rooms, not participating, and then use the recorded data to make "typical" sentences, then either record them locally or put them in a new room (I haven't decided yet).
And yeah, I'm aware that the data is public; I'm specifically asking about using a room bot to gather it.
Mostly because it makes it easier to, say, let people opt-in or out of being recorded, and I don't have to do any HTML scraping

@QPaysTaxes I really don't see a problem there. It's not disruptive, it's using public data... I'd even question if an opt in is necessary - people are opting in to data being scraped by having conversations here in the first place - but that's up to you.

I'd rather let people have a way to opt out.
Anyway, thanks!

Yeah, that's fair. I doubt anyone will object to having the choice :)

Plus it makes me sleep more easily at night, knowing that people can choose not to be Internet-stalked by my computer

...interesting sentence, that.

That was the idea yes
Anyway battery is about to die so bye

Likewise, actually. 'Night!
