@hichris123 More or less 5 clicks + typing the search + waiting. As for the dev time, no idea. Since it's something that I and others do quite often, I believe it can be worth it as long as the dev time isn't too high. Art noted that we could reuse parts of the API for that so hopefully it would be somewhat simple.

should be easy but then again I'm not a python guy

I've been thinking about that some, too
there could be significant external factors
spammers rotate domain names but e.g. IP addresses are more fixed

8:37 AM
Well, it seems sensible.

so if you find a spammer domain which has the same IP and same whois as a blacklisted one, that should be a slam dunk with no further evidence required
we don't currently have the tooling to easily diagnose that, though

@hichris123 that's basically every program, every feature, ever. Make things because we're lazy, because the time they'll save us in the future is greater than the dev time.

^

Every feature starts out at -100 though.
No. Not in here. :P

I like the idea

@hichris123 might be a little low, considering we've never had 100 people in this room :P I get the point, but I also figure that if it's going to help at least some (as in more than 1 or 2) of the people here, then it's worth it.

the blacklist I did this morning didn't at least

?

Did you fix it?

Using !!/blacklist adds the new entry on a newline by adding a newline first, then the new entry. It doesn't leave a trailing newline.

Oh

GitHub edits do leave a trailing newline.

tpu- by Kyll

So, if the file is edited on GH, there's a trailing. If someone then uses the blacklist command, there's a double newline, so you get an empty line.

Ahh
So avoid editing on github is what you're saying

11:16 AM
The edit I just made took out the empty line and removed the trailing newline.
@Magisch indeed.

fine by me, !!/blacklist is infinitely more convenient anyways

FYI: please avoid editing the blacklist on GitHub. The way GH does it and the way blacklist does it are incompatible.

Use !!/blacklist instead

Perhaps you should add the command to the documentation

is it not there already? huh

11:18 AM
Is !!/blacklist a privileged command anyways?

For me, that was close vote flag worthy

Closeworthy, yes. Abuse, no.

Not redflaggable imo
@SmokeDetector f
