The office's internet connection keeps flaking out. Whenever it comes back I come back here and discover very strange things have happened in my absence. Every time.

The longest break I had in the middle of a game was with Ultima VII Part 2 (The Serpent Isle).

I played it and got stuck somewhere. This was pre-internet, so I couldn't get a walkthrough. And at 25MB, it took up over 50% of my harddrive at the time. :)

Aw, man, I remember the old Ultimas...

I think the biggest break I took and then resumed a game was kingdom hearts 1. I got like 5 new games for xmas and didn't play it for about 6 months.

So I erased it and moved on. About 7-8 years later I bought the Complete Ultima set and restarted it, and this time finished it.

Turns out I was doing the right thing to continue, only I was doing it a bit to the left of where I was supposed to be doing it.

I'm not sure that specific question seemed unrelated to D&D 4e, since D&D 4e uses a tier system that clearly defines what should the span of a narrative arc be (or at least, it tells us that if you want to save the world you need to be at least Paragon). What I'm doubtful about is: OpaCitiZen says "maybe it's system-agnostic, please, OP, tell us" and then someone else kicks in and says "Since OpaCityZen said it is system agnosting, I'm editing tags accordingly"

I have to say I didn't look who made the edit and assumed it was OP. My bad. But the edit still stands, I think, because OP is a first-time GM and seems to have play only DD4, so he may not be able to know if it's a sys-ag issue or not. And while answers may be more useful to him if they contains specific DD4 elements, campaign-scope issues are, IMHO, indeed system-agnostic

I want to ask something like "What 3rd-party supplements are made for Dungeon Crawl Classics?" and have answers aggregate. This is a little iffy to me because the answer will change over time. What's the SE-correct way (if any) to set that up? And if I know of a few, do I supply my own answer or put them in the question?

Right now, I believe it's small. But it will grow and I can't predict the popularity of the game or the 3rd party productions.

I mean, I know of four things that would go on the list. I'd bet that that's no less than a third of the English-language stuff that's out there. If we decide that's "too listy" what's the solution? Just don't do it or do it a specific way?

The option we can offer (if the question is asked and allowed to stay open) is to ask the question, and then for you to add an answer and make it CW (there is a checkbox when you answer), then add the ones you know off and invite people to add more/maintain the list etc.

Yeah, a wiki sounds like a good solution. but... Oh, actually, maybe a geeklist at RPGgeek would be good for that.
