The "big list" part I see as a problem/valid close reason (there's (gun types * manufacturers) number of scopes in the game) but I dont' think "but that's cheating" is a valid close reason

Also it can be useful to know which manu makes which scope, as it affects your gun's stats

The point is, Sony sees a problem, and throws completely unrelated tech at it. And then leaves it to third parties to use it properly, or not at all.

Which is what I view this "No porting over PS3 stuff" as. A technological measure to force people to re-buy everything.

@saintwacko eventually soon I want to try throwing some flavour of Linux on my netbook because win7 starter is killing it. (it runs so slow it might as well be going backwards)

@BenBrocka They did. I think people should keep in mind that in the old days there was no backwards compatibility. The SNES didn't play NES games, or the N64 SNES games and so on.

@JasonBerkan Yeah, that much at least I'd expect. Like I said, that proc is probably strong enough to software emulate PS1/2. Hell, they've had software emulators for the PS1 since the PSP/PS3

I'm assuming there's much more to it than just "nope no backwards compatibility ever". They should have been a lot clearer about this "streaming" crap. I'm not sure how playable that would be with ping included

Yeah - streaming doesn't interest me. My wireless connection isn't fast enough for that.

@JasonBerkan It'd be cool if it somehow streamed bits of the game to run locally, so ping doesn't matter...but I doubt that's what they'll do. Considering how slow PSN always was they'll need to seriously upgrade their data centers to make streaming work, even ignoring the user-end connection
