@AshleyNunn The premise is hard to explain. The whole thing is a giant circle. Go out, kill monsters, harvest them, turn monster parts into better weapons and armor, hunt bigger monsters, repeat until everything (except you) is dead.

The only thing you have to go on is how the monster looks, and how it moves.

Your B button is going to be your best friend.

Something else is you and the monster are on an equal plain field. You require stamina to perform attacks, and so does the monster. The longer the fight goes on, the less stamina it will have, just like you will.

Q: Coming from Starling and Actionscript, is there a linux game engine for me?

Pidgin is a good IM software, though I think it should already be in there.

Did you install the restricted extras when you install Ubuntu?

LibreOffice should come with Ubuntu, though if you want to use Office, wine should support at least Office 2007

Spore doesn't run on either Windows 7 or Mountain Lion at all, and EA dropped support completely.

Uh, search for 'microsoft font'

I think that should work

It's a package of Microsoft fonts that come with every Windows OS, like Arial, Georgia, etc.

Without them some websites and documents may look a little weird.

The full name of the package is ttf-mscorefonts-installer

Oh yeah, you do need to be careful when you're doing the transfer. I heard it's possible to brick your Wii U if the power goes out

@fbueckert Nope! Nothing has gone boom! Installing steam was a bit tricky, but my boyfriend explained it to me! And then he even explained what I did (typed some stuff in the terminal), because I like knowing the hows and whys.

I think if you poke around Appearance > Effects and turn up the Effect-o-Meter up high you should get wobbly windows. If you can't find it don't bother, it's stupid anyway :P
