I went to my supermarket recently and saw a display for "stuff" olives. One of my online vendors sent me an email saying my order was "ship" on such-and-such a date. I'm seeing a lot of this lately, the dropping of "ed" from past participles. Is this usage now considered acceptable?

Once I extracted two permanent teeth because the dentist said mine were too crowded, so if I count correctly I only have 26 teeth left.

@JasperLoy I had several extracted for the same reason. I think before I had braces they took out either 2 or 4. Plus, I had to have my wisdom teeth out too. Often the dentist has to use the child-size x-ray film on my mouth.

There is a trend to dumb things down in order to better connect with young people, even though young people don't really want that, no scientific research to support any of it.

This reminds me of a question. I've heard Kindle Fire pronounced KINIndlefire (all together with one accent), but I's say Kindle Fire with two accents. I was thinking why I don't say it the other way and came up with the example of car models. Does that hold water?
