11:00 PM
So I know nothing about the art of bargaining.

user19161
I wish amazon ships everywhere for free though!

I know!

Oh, yeah that must be annoying. I don't think I could live without Amazon anymore.

It's a shame, really, how expensive shipping usually is for cheap objects, comparatively.

I never have time to do holiday or birthday shopping for anyone so it's a godsend.

11:02 PM
Maths 101.

user19161
I only get books, but unfortunately these are usually only available on amazon.

Buy expensive objects. Problem solved.

With what?

user19161
The Americans are so lucky to have amazon.com which is usually cheaper than the other amazons!

With credit.

11:02 PM
Whence?

Or the money you save buying fake fake Rolexes.

Hmm...

Look, the whole of Greece, that's like 12 million people, have lived off non-existent creditae's for decades.

So I should buy some fake fake Rolexes first, then I will be able to buy expensive items from Amazon?
Don't forget the banks.

Or that. Buy fake Rolexes, resell them as genuine. Step 3: profit.

user19161
11:04 PM
I wonder why people buy fake branded items.

I really think the Glass-Seagall Act was good.
@WillHunting So do I!

user19161
Either get branded items or non-branded items but why fake branded?

Because they care only about the brand.

Yeah.
You don't buy the item. You buy the brand.

user19161
But it's fake!

11:05 PM
Well, and sometimes a similar design doesn't exist.

user19161
You might as well make your own sticker and paste over it!

@WillHunting But they think people can't see that.

But if it will buy you similar status, what does it matter?

Indeed.

user19161
@aediaλ So it is the status that matters...

user19161
11:06 PM
QED

And in many cases the original brand is worth just as much as the fake. They buy from the same factory in Bangladesh, and slap the same logo on it, except that they spell it correctly.

But those who care most about those brands will be able to tell from a hundred metres.
@RegDwightѬſ道 True.
Though not always.

Not everyone.

user19161
@RegDwightѬſ道 Yeah they go through me first for the spelling.

Everyone who cares about shareholder value has to do it that way.

11:07 PM
No, but those whom they want to impress most are the hardest to impress.

user19161
I don't care about brands but I must say asics running shoes are indeed the best.

Gah. I hate that brand.

@RegDwightѬſ道 Yeah, shareholder value...so annoying.
We should have less of that.

looks under desk to try to figure out my sneaker brand
I've had these for like 6 years, you would think I'd know what they are

I am wearing Homer Simpson slippers right now.

user19161
11:09 PM
LOL

asics, huh

I wear cheap shoes from Zellers. Oh yeah!

I'm wearing half of a pair of cheap brown flats I keep under the desk at work, but I commute in the sneakers in winter. I guess they've lasted a while so they're ok
I hate shoes though and I'd go barefoot if the ground wasn't like, full of people's spit and broken glass around here

Move to a swamp.

user19161
I walk a lot so even if I take care of the shoes they might wear out in a year or two. The sole will drop out or something like that.

11:11 PM

user19161
I also used to run one hour everyday in the past.

This is like my sneakers before they got dirty (yes they really are pink edged... hmm mine are pink inside though)

@WillHunting every day.

user19161
@RegDwightѬſ道 Thanks!

@RegDwightѬſ道 Haha. I would probably like it better.

11:12 PM
I know. I was serious.

user19161
@aediaλ Hey looks like one of mine! But mine was yellow and not pink I think.

Unicorns are endemic to swamps.
2

Wearing shoes like these, but a nicer shade of brown.

Fancy.

Ooh, snazzy.

user19161
11:15 PM
@Cerberus That looks hard. It does not hurt?

I don't wear high-heels.

@WillHunting Hard? How do you mean?
@RegDwightѬſ道 Why not?

user19161
Also don't buy expensive leather. The more expensive it is the more pain the animal went through.

user19161
@Cerberus Well, not too soft on the feet.

@Cerberus Because on I'm no drag queen on Thursdays.

11:16 PM
@WillHunting How do you figure?

EUR 40 or so.
I bought these second hand.

You know they can tan the leather after the animal is like, out of it, right?

user19161
@Mahnax Well, that's what I heard or read long ago, no official info though.

@RegDwightѬſ道 Pah. Plain leather shoes have heels. These aren't "high".

@WillHunting It sounds very silly to me.

11:17 PM
@Cerberus they are compared to heels that are much lower.

@WillHunting When was the animal hurt exactly?
@RegDwightѬſ道 These are regular heels.

@Cerberus Ouch, my shoes cost $18.99.

@Cerberus Certainly you mean, you bought the shoes second foot.

@Mahnax Wow! That's cheap.

user19161
@Cerberus Well, like snakes that are skinned alive and left to die on the tree they were pinned to.

11:18 PM
@Cerberus not if you're not a drag queen.

The cheapest decent leather shoes would cost about EUR 150.

@Cerberus Yeah, shoes here are very cheap at certain places. I got my work shoes for $10.

@RegDwightѬſ道 Haha, right!

@Cerberus Oh my...

Second feet, even.

user19161
11:18 PM
@Mahnax What material is it?

@WillHunting But what does the way you kill them have to do with the quality of the leather?

@WillHunting I have no idea. My best guess is that it is, in fact, a shoe.

@Mahnax ! Also second foot?

@Cerberus Nope, new.

Now I'm really wondering what they look like...
Picture!

11:20 PM
Shall I take a photo?

Or they didn't happen.

Oh, okay.

user19161
@Cerberus Well, like the skin is more supple or something like that.

Yay!

One moment, please.

user19161
11:20 PM
@Cerberus Famous line.

@WillHunting How is the skin made more supple? And why does the animal need to be alive during this process of supple-making?

user19161
@Cerberus Well, it is like rigor mortis. Things harden when you die. But I don't know more about this. Nvm!

Okay, lacking further details, it sounds a bit unlikely, sorry.

user19161
Oh @mahnax how is your infected toe?

These are good shoes. And normal heels.
Lloyd.

11:23 PM
@WillHunting Alright, I suppose.

user19161
@RegDwightѬſ道 Good. High heels are dangerous.

They look decent, but the heels look about the same height.

Heel = twice the thickness of the outer sole.

user19161
@RegDwightѬſ道 I like this kind!

11:24 PM
There they are.

Awww hehe.

Simple and plain.

Rubber sole.

user19161
@Mahnax Are your feet big?

@WillHunting Yes.

11:25 PM
Are they comfortable?

Somewhat.

Hmm OK.

After 5 hours standing up, any shoes get uncomfortable, so these are pretty good.

user19161
@Mahnax This is the kind students wear in some schools.

@WillHunting We have no uniforms here.
Just a poorly enforced dress code.

user19161
11:26 PM
@Mahnax Do you wear those to school too?

@WillHunting Nay.
They are for work, and work only.

user19161
@Mahnax Well, I could wear those running shoes to school back then, as long as they are not too colourful.

@WillHunting I see.

user19161
@Mahnax Good good.

Our dress code enforces length of girls' shorts and the amount of skin that they show.
Guys must wear shirts.
That's pretty much it. Obviously, pants are expected to be worn as well.

user19161
11:29 PM
When I was in uni, I wore T-shirt, walking shorts and track shoes all the time.

Yeah, well, that would have been good to wear under your fuzzy pajamas and winter coat that you needed to keep on in some classrooms to stop shivering, where I went to school...

user19161
Interesting how some places on earth need heater while others need cooler. If only the heat can be channeled from one place to another automagically!

user19161
But then there would not be snow in that case...

@Mahnax Shirts as opposed to...?

@Cerberus No shirts.

11:39 PM
@WillHunting Stupid earth refuses to stick with its orientation.
@Mahnax Which means, bare-chested?
So no trousers is OK?
Interesting priorities.

11 mins ago, by Mahnax
That's pretty much it. Obviously, pants are expected to be worn as well.
Pants == trousers.

1 min ago, by Cerberus
So no trousers is OK?
Jul 1 '11 at 18:48, by Robusto
@Alenanno — "We have armadillos in our trousers."
On this cheerful note, I'm out for today.
Night all.

Night.

Bye!
@Mahnax Oops, missed that line.

@Cerberus Heh.

11:43 PM
So what if I'm wearing a pullover but no shirt?

That is a shirt.
Also, you know what I mean, stop being so nitpicky.

A shirt?
Hmm.

Anyways.

And what if you want to wear a funny hat?

@Cerberus No hats.

11:50 PM
Not even this one?

@Cerberus Okay, maybe that one.

Yay!

That is a nice hat.

Awwh. Cute hat.

user19161
@Cerberus I am not sure if that is a real cat.

11:59 PM
@WillHunting You mean hat?

user19161
@Mahnax Actually I am not so sure what you mean. So is sleeveless allowed?

It looks like a hat. It even has earmuffs.

user19161
@Cerberus No I mean cat.

@WillHunting Yeah.

It's not really a cat: it's a hat.

user19161
11:59 PM
@Mahnax Wow then that is pretty liberal.
