@PauloCereda yes :)
Time to go to bed ...
Could not resist to answer the "jumping quickly" question

@StefanKottwitz That was also my idea, but since I think that underlining is a capital sin, I didn't even try and get a working solution. :)

@PauloCereda Yeah!

@egreg Neat! :) Probably Monday will be the day. :)

I'm editing this ad, but I'm not sure what I write instead of "Out now!"
I'm thinking of "Download now!"

@egreg Great idea!
Done. :)

1:21 PM
@PauloCereda Is advertising allowed? :)

@egreg Sure is! shameless promotion for the win! :P

@PauloCereda do you have any suggestions for the package authors & maintainer blog posts? If yes, I'm in the blog editors room.

1:39 PM
@StefanKottwitz Sure, I'm going there. :)
@StefanKottwitz: could you unfreeze it? I can't enter. :)
@egreg: Breve Guida is already a success: tex.stackexchange.com/questions/36968/… :)

@PauloCereda ok, it's unfrozen

@StefanKottwitz Danke! :)

Hi @Gonzalo! :)

@PauloCereda Hi.

@lockstep Did you see the lineno trick?

@egreg Already upvoted -- deserves to become at least a "Nice Answer".

@egreg I'm out of votes, but I'll upvote it ASAP. :)

Looking at this answer of mine, I'm starting to think that begintext and endtext (hook) options would be useful for my quoting package. (csquotes has lots of options for inline quotes, but is rather bare-bones for displayed quotes.)

A: Indenting long citations inside a document?

lockstepMy solution differs from Gonzalo's in two respects: Instead of switching between the quote and quotation environments, I use my quoting package and its environment of the same name. First-line indentation is controlled by adding a blank line before the environment. Italic font is achieved with ...

3:12 PM
@lockstep Omega had this feature, it probably can be obtained quite easily with LuaTeX.

@PauloCereda Out of votes already? If lockstep is a tagging machine, you surely are a voting machine.

Santa Claus is a TeX user? Oh wait.

3:54 PM
@egreg Now it deserves to become a "Good Answer". :-)

@lockstep Not a complete solution, unfortunately.

@egreg It's a very interesting question, too.

@egreg It's great. :)

4:16 PM
@egreg: did you test the script?

@PauloCereda No, sorry. I had to work on a thesis and here I don't have space enough for a virtual machine.
"kantlipsum is my new favourite package!" (Seamus)
2

@egreg Ah don't worry. :) I didn't have time to test it either. My machine is cluttered a lot, I need to create more room for it. :) BTW I'm afraid the script is buggy. :(
@egreg Yay! :)
kantlipsum is epic indeed! :)
@egreg: tomorrow a big game against Cesena. :)

4:34 PM
@PauloCereda They pay 12 for Cesena's win.

@egreg really? Wow.

Just seen on a newspaper, I'm not a gambler.

Today is Milan's game.
I'm so tempted to add the following comment "I like zoos. I want to see a TeX giraffe!" in the package resources question. :P

@PauloCereda Genoa-Milan was played yesterday, because Milan has a Euroleague match next Tuesday. Milan won with a penalty in the second half and a goal by Ibrahimović in the final minutes.

@egreg Oh I thought the game was today. My bad. So Juve needs to win to be leader again.

4:49 PM
@PauloCereda It's more important to be leading at the end of the season. :)
By the way, another "Enlightened" badge. :)

@egreg Ah true. :) Palmeiras was leading the league in the beginning, now it's in the middle of the classification. :P

1 hour later…
6:07 PM
@JosephWright: is it ok if I fork the UK-TUG slides repo?

6:29 PM
@PauloCereda Of course: it's CC-licensed

Swag has arrived. The t-shirt is very elegant (as much as a t-shirt can be). Plus two pens and two stickers. (The latter in a very hefty ziplock bag.)

@TorbjørnT I've flagged that one so that either the OP or a moderator will write a separate answer.

user7636This is my first question here, so apologies if I miss any conventions. I'm writing a dissertation in LaTeX. My sources are in Mendeley, which is generating a BibTeX file. I'm using the natbib package with the plainnat style. The first problem that I faced with this was that most of the URLs in...

@egreg I will. But the right answer I believe is in Taco's comment: read the Pascal source. So I will probably not go through it carefully today (reading about Unicode at the moment).

@BrunoLeFloch No problem.
@lockstep I upvoted it. Seems clear and complete.
What about this one? Off topic?

Q: Sweave won't create PNG images

FreddyUp to this morning Sweave() was regularly creating images in png format (I used png=T as an argument). At some point Sweave would no longer create any PNG image (this is a problem for me 'cause running MikTeX I found tricky managing pdf or eps pics). Now I have checked over any possible modifi...

@egreg Oh my! :) I can't even imagine a mass that fast. :)

@PauloCereda Did you go dressed as Santa?

@egreg I'd say off-topic.

I make it 2300: unanswered down to 164
@lockstep Agreed

@egreg Heaven forbid! I would be excommunicated! :)

11:02 PM
@JosephWright You didn't refresh often enough -- 162. :-)

@lockstep At 2300 here I did, but then closed one myself anyway :-)

Sorry I couldn't help out today. Urgent deadline on Monday and too much other stuff associated with the end of term.

@AlanMunn No problem

@JosephWright Anyhow, not too bad. Our answer rate is still a solid 98%.

@PauloCereda Why? Do you know that the saint that originated Santa is buried in Italy? San Nicola di Bari.

11:04 PM
@AlanMunn We miss you. :)

@lockstep Great. As the number of questions is going up but the unanswered list is not, we should be okay

@JosephWright I did convert one comment to an answer as @egreg suggested. tex.stackexchange.com/q/35559/2693

@AlanMunn Upvoted to get it off the list

@AlanMunn Upvoted.

@egreg Really?! I didn't know it!

11:06 PM
@JosephWright I'm responsible for quite a lot of the unanswered questions. I feel like I should try and answer some.

@egreg: how nice! I read his entry on Wikipedia! There's a picture of the church, it looks so beautiful and peaceful. :)

This is technically not unanswered because I accepted my own answer. I'd be grateful if anyone knowledgable in either upvotes the answer our leaves a comment telling me why my solution isn't useful.

Q: pagenote: Adding a cross-referencing mechanism

lockstepThis question originates from a bug report at SourceForge.net: biblatex from April 2010. A user pointed out that a certain biblatex style (verbose-inote) produced wrong references when used together with the pagenote package (which, quoting from its documentation, "provides notes similar to footn...

BTW, I already hit the rep cap for today, so this is not a request for additional rep.

Wow! For every question I close I earn a vote back?!

Thanks to the anonymous upvoter.

@PauloCereda That church was a castle. It was transformed into a church by the Normans that for a long time ruled all of Southern Italy.

11:11 PM
@PauloCereda Why do you think so? I'm nearly out of closing votes for today.

@lockstep I tried to upvoted it - even knowing I reached the cap. The system actually let me vote!
@lockstep Ah, I probably missed something. :)

@PauloCereda Hmm ... you should get back Q/A votes if a question/answer you voted on is deleted.

@lockstep Ah that explains it.
@egreg It's so beautiful. :)

@PauloCereda It's a very peculiar style, neither romanesque nor gothic. There are other similar churches in Apulia: Trani and Barletta.

@egreg Interesting! Were they castles too?

11:23 PM
@PauloCereda I don't think so.

Arrgh! Now I earned a "Revival" badge for answering my own question! (I had completely forgotten that I had answered more than 30 days later.)

They were built in the Bari cathedral style.
@lockstep See what happens when one writes questions? :-P

@egreg At least that question taught me something about pagenote and memoir.

@lockstep I too got a "Revival" badge; always happens during these sessions.

@egreg: we were trying to find a replacement for "Silent Night". My mom suggested me to sing "Tu scendi delle stelle". :)

11:30 PM
@egreg I have quite a few "unearned" ones for CW answers recycling comments of other users. I won't do that anymore.

@lockstep It's legit: you've done work to find the questions, and it's either that or they stay unanswered for ever

@PauloCereda That's surely appropriate: it was composed by Sant'Alfonso de' Liguori in 1754 (he was from a place near Naples).

@JosephWright I can always point other users to add a CW answer. Or hope that the OP shows up.

@lockstep Yes, but the reality is that most of the 'unanswered' are going to be handled by one of the 'regulars'

@JosephWright Okay -- when every trusted user has half a dozen "CW Revival" badges, I'll earn them again, too.

11:36 PM
@egreg Ah I was trying to find the composer. :)

@PauloCereda I remembered the name, I found the date on the net.

In preparation of the next "Answer the unanswered" session, I will review the oldest unanswered questions and leave a request to add more information if appropriate. Some questions are begging to be closed, but not before the OP has been given a chance to improve them.

@lockstep Well, you let all others the chance for answering during more than 30 days

@egreg Wow, I didn't know he founded the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer! The Basilica of our patron saint Our Lady of Aparecida was encouraged by the Redemptorist missionaries. It's the largest basilica dedicated to Virgin Mary in the whole world.

Q: Change nameddest default name

Marco CoradiniAdobe defines parameters that allow you to open a PDF document with a command or URL that specifies exactly what to display (a named destination or specific page), and how to display it (using such characteristics as a specific view, scrollbars, bookmarks, annotations, or highlighting). My quest...

Is the namedest thing decided by hyperref, or something else? Is it something that can be changed?

@TorbjørnT I suspect this is off-topic.
