I really love doing it, its a fun way to explore places

I go a lot with my parents

Well, they like to have no fewer than 3 for most sites

but beyond that, it's on an as needed basis

And honestly, each person who stepped down had been inactive for a good while before they did

so we're pretty solidly handling things

Yeah, like if the current team is obviously handling stuff and doesn't feel so overloaded that they're gonna explode, it's left as is

Bolts, electrical boxes, etc

@GodEmperorDune Caching? As dangerous as you want it to be, I guess? Like the intent isn't to put you in danger and all caches have a difficulty warning and a terrain warning

We've had to climb some trees and hills and rocky outcroppings, but nothing like you'd need special equipment for

it's meant to be accessible to just about any able-bodied human

And if there's anything unusual, a good hider will tell you what to watch for.

The most I've ever run into myself is some bumps and scrapes and bug bites.

And thorn bushes.

(But like if you're looking at urban caches, they're not going to be bad at all)

I know we have more caches locally than Munzees last I checked

which always struck me as odd because munzees are easier to place

It should list logs of peopel who found it and the dates

and if too many people haven't found it, a good hider would do maintenance

Like there are caches I've gotten that have been there for years

if you do them well and take care of them, they stick around :)

@FAE I remember helping my parents last summer, they did the whole summer daily thing

(Which got hard after a while, they kept having to go farther and farther :P)

It was nice, we mentioned that in the log and the hider sent them a nice note about how he was honoured to be their 1000th

And I keep forgetting to log where I take my bumblebee trackable (I totally keep it on my caching lanyard)

(along with my pen, a flashlight, a small knife, etc)

@GodEmperorDune Okay, so, a few bits of important info.

A trackable/TB/Tracker Bug is a physical item (often a keychain sized thing but I've seen like stuffed animals and stuff) that you attach a code to so you can track where it goes. The idea is you see it in a cache, you take it (logging that you have it) and then drop it off somewhere else (logging that you dropped it). Some people set up "rules" like we had one last summer that wanted to be taken to caches near fire stations.

My parents placed one that I took to NYC and started off in Central Park that was a cat asking people who found it to post pet pictures with it.

@FAE was awesome and got me a bumblebee that matches my tattoo pretty well, and I just "dip" it in caches (you can say a trackable "visited" a cache but wasn't dropped)
