@ron If you have not done it yet, here is the original Help Vampire post and a short guideline, how the "problem" should be dealt with on meta.se.
@santiago Nice to hear that :D

4 hours later…
7:39 AM
Physiotherapy done for the day - the prognosis is looking far better!

2 hours later…
9:28 AM
@santiago Yay, that sound s good.
@MARamezani
We should talk about
I am not so much pleased with the idea calling it just erratum
and not so convinced, that academic-erratum is a little bit too broad
I wanted to spy at physics, but the tag wiki is empty :(, but they have the same tag as we do

2 hours later…
12:02 PM
@santiago Yay!
@Martin I'm all ears.
Though some parts of me have spontaneously been substituted with phenyl mouthane.
I'm available for some 8 hours.
@Martin sheesh.
I think choosing a name for this thing is very hard.

12:30 PM
@MARamezani I don't have time today, tomorrow is a holiday here and i am going out now... see ya soon

@Martin Martin what about the name Misconceptions?
@Martin Bye anyways.
I'm gonna think about fancy tag names and will come to you.

1:19 PM
This is not fair!!!
[insert swear word]

Swear word!
Hullo!

hello!!

@DelPate It's never fair.

Good!!
Better than last time. Atleast I am not alone on chat today!!

Yay!
BTW you were talking about the unfairness.
Which highly upvoted answer bothers you?

1:21 PM
I am never online when @Martin @ManishEarth @ron @Gowtham @santiago @MARamezani @ADG @EroSɘnnin are online and chatting. :(

Haha! In your face!
Mwahhhahahahhhahahahhaha etc.

-_-

BTW I wish I was lucky like you.

How am I lucky? @MARamezani

Sometimes talking with ADG is like carrying a ton on your shoulders.
But yeah, missing a talk with @Martin is grievance.
OR @RON!

1:27 PM
:(

Pets Del affectionately
But wait!
There's hope.
We're chatting in the cabin:

 ELL's Cabin

This is the former main chat room for English Language Learner...
You can come if you want.
Also, I can express some of my opinions freely in there.

Like?

Opinions about some users.

Backbiting XD

1:30 PM
But anyone can read the chat right?

If they find the messages...

Delete?

basically scroll through one site's chat transcript to know there are more messages in another chat and scroll more to find something :D

@Gowtham Oooof. That needs some temperament.
@DelPate I usually don't get to follow what people were talking in busy streets of some chats.

@Gowtham you there?

1:35 PM
ya sup

Shall we go to that chatroom?

sure , or keep both open :D even better ;)

English Learning Cabin.

Everyone's here.

Alright then. :)

1:36 PM
Dunno.
I have both thingie's open already.
I have a question.

I see. You are already in there. @Gowtham

yep
@MARamezani watt ?

same four people in both the rooms

Why is Zaitsev's rule happening?
Chatting in two chats
Now that's tech.

Yeah @Freddy
And @MARamezani asks me to come over there -_-

1:40 PM
Doesn't really differ now.
My question?
2 mins ago, by MARamezani
Why is Zaitsev's rule happening?
@Del do you know the reason?

@MARamezani i dont remember too much about the rule, looking up, give me few mins

Hyperconjugation

@Gowtham Take a look at Wikipedia:
Zaitsev's rule (or Saytseff's rule) is an empirical rule for predicting the favored alkene product(s) in elimination reactions. While at the University of Kazan, Russian chemist Alexander Zaitsev studied a variety of different elimination reactions and observed a general trend in the resulting alkenes. Based on this trend, Zaitsev stated, "The alkene formed in greatest amount is the one that corresponds to removal of the hydrogen from the β-carbon having the fewest hydrogen substituents." For example, when 2-iodobutane is treated with alcoholic KOH, 2-butene is the major product and 1-butene is...
@DelPate But they said it's empirical.
They're usually right.

Hyperconjugation, which describes the stabilizing interaction between the HOMO of the alkyl group and the LUMO of the double bond, also helps explain the influence of alkyl substitutions on the stability of alkenes. In regards to orbital hybridization, a bond between an sp2 carbon and an sp3 carbon is stronger than a bond between two sp3-hybridized carbons. Computations reveal a dominant stabilizing hyperconjugation effect of 6 kcal/mol per alkyl group.
Copied from that wikipedia page

Aha!
I just saw the rule in my Organochem textbook.
And found the Wikipedia page almost recently.
(When I figured out how to pronounce the guy's name in English)

@DelPate BTW blockquotes work here too.

Does this question requires all this detailed answers. I think it will confuse OP

@Freddy I like confusions!
Hullo emperor @ron!

ron
Good morning everyone, wanted to stop by and say good morning!
@Marin, thanks for the vampire link

It is not for you! :)

1:46 PM
@Freddy ya , i tried to keep it simple , this new answer is going the whole 9 yards

@ron Good morning

@ron Ah, so you're leaving?

ron
in a few

Good moaning BTW.
Or good mourning.
Whichever fits better.

ron
@Santiago glad you're on the mend

1:47 PM
@Gowtham I know new one is too detailed

ron
@MARamezani yes, today it is good morning!
anything major happening?

nothing much

Yes. @ron

> Zaitsev and Markovnikov both studied under Alexander Butlerov, taught at the University of Kazan during the same period, and were bitter rivals.
Interesting!

I am online and so is everyone else.

ron
1:48 PM
@DelPate what?

@ron His being able to chat is a bliss.

@DelPate Interesting

@ron BTW, can't remember anything more important than graduation.
Freaks out again

ron
who graduated?
you?

But my close votes privileges...

1:50 PM
The site @ron

@ron Nah. Chem.SE graduation.

ron
@MARamezani Ah

Screw close votes!

@ron what you think about this

I'll flag and get my Marshal badge!

1:51 PM
what will you flag? @MARamezani

ron
@@Freddy looks interesting, I'll give it a read later, but no organic molecules!

@Freddy When I won't be able to close anymore, I'll flag all those homework craps. MWAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHA etc.

@ron Do you research?

@ron Then no interesting. I'm studying organochem recently BTW.

@ron hmm is water inorganic ?

ron
1:53 PM
@DelPate I research for chem se

Yes @Gowtham

@Gowtham Yep.
Organic, with a very crude definition, has to have a C.

ron
@Gowtham ah, it's the "simple" questions that cause trouble

hmm ok

@ron Seriously. You have published something?

ron
1:55 PM
You want to hear a funny chem story, it'll take me a minute to type it?

@ron I do I do!

If you are asking me, yes. @ron

@Gowtham Organic compounds contain carbon bonds in which at least one carbon atom is covalently linked to an atom of another type (commonly hydrogen, oxygen, or nitrogen).

ron
Don't know if its true, but it was passed on to me
Do you guys no who Woodward was?

@ron A human?

ron
1:56 PM
I mean the chemist, have you heard of him?

@ron You mean bob woodward

Yes

ron
yes

Was that one of those natural product total synthesis guys?

@NicolauSakerNeto Hullo!

1:57 PM
Hello MARamezani

ron
OK, Hoffmann of the W-H rules came back to Harvard for a seminar. He had once worked with Woodward, so Woodward introduced him

ron
Heaid, there have been many famous Hoffmanns in the annals of chemistry

ya , i thought it would belong to organic , guess not. seems there is no single "official" definition of an organic compound

@ron And many rons. I wanted to find you on the net the other day...
