2:00 AM
for example, if the edge chosen was A to D

@Downgoat Excuse my uncontrollable laughter
2

we could just start at A, and end at D
it doesn't enforce the path

@HelkaHomba gg

but say we chose A->B and A->D

2:01 AM
@NathanMerrill Ah - I was thinking minimal number of edges - I misread

if we are to traverse that, we have to traverse every edge
actually, Hamiltonian path isn't what I'm thinking of
Eulerian path

Is Hamiltonian every node and Eulerian every edge?

its pretty trivial to see that the number of edges is always going to be at least 2, unless there's only 1 edge
@trichoplax yes
because one path will need to enforce the "start", and the other the "finish"
I know its not a digraph, oh well
I'm not sure how important that part is
A, C, E, G, I, K
I know that enforces a hamiltonian path
but I don't know if can be improved on

@EasternBits :O

@HelkaHomba Hmm. Do you prefer Helky or Homby?

2:14 AM
Helkie

So Homby it is then? Got it :P

Helkie Hombie!
2

is there a term for a traversal that never uses the same edge (but doesn't necessarily use every edge)?
oh, found it
"Trail"
on math.SE, is it better to explain mathy terms, or be terse?
(like Trail and Eulerian circuit)

Wow, that's the actual term used?

2:22 AM
@NathanMerrill math people like greek letters so don't forget to use those unnecessarily

halp, how tail call optimize

You can call Optimizer with just your tail? Sorry, no idea exactly how that's done.

@Downgoat very effciency, much calling tails
@Downgoat idk, but I would guess you detect if a function call itself on the last line of itself, then rewrite the function as a while loop or something

@Maltysen seems difficult
I'll do it never later

2:26 AM
@Downgoat never is usually fine
wait, are you implementing the stack, etc yourself?

of course!

oooh, found a bug!

squish it!

@NathanMerrill eewww,kill it (wait, in my code?)

no, in SE
writing a meta post right now

2:29 AM
@HelkaHomba It looks wrong to me. How many spaces before each bar? (|)

oh okay, good :P

A: How to avoid toddlers on a long-distance plane flight?

BerwynFor a mere $160000, you can hire a private jet for London - LAX return which is a similar trip length to that of San Francisco. Source: http://www.privatefly.com/us/private-flights/how-much-does-a-private-flight-cost

@Bits do you support bitcoin btw?

For just "Bits", you're getting awfully Geo there

-_-

2:32 AM
@HelkaHomba rekt

@EasternBits I made a thousand bucks or so with bitcoin some time back, but I'm not a big advocate or anything, and I don't have any now.

okay

Either way, here's my 22-byte V answer:

I think I win just cause nobody else answered.

In most chatrooms I'd think your cat just jumped on your keyboard.

@MarsUltor multiline comments in cheddar are causing infinite loops :/

2:35 AM
i'll help?

@Downgoat I think that means they're not comments. If that helps >_>

@Downgoat?

@EasternBits Your name changed.

Reddit is down.

@EasternBits idk if you know the cheddar classes though

2:36 AM
true
@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ yes

@Bits I don't have a cat.

just found that my post is a duplicate

@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ I don't either, but I assume most dogs don't do it. Mine does from time to time, but he's, uhhhh, special.

er, maybe not
nevermind, its actually an imgur bug

2:38 AM
@Bits solution: get a goat. It doesn't jump on your keyboard and it's a tasty dinner

@Downgoat Tasty, you say...hmmm....

I like this name a lot.
@Bits special?

Ok, everyone. Please remember this as the day when Downgoat admitted goats are tasty.

Like he lives in your purse?

@Bits :|

2:38 AM
@Bits he means the milk.

@Downgoat You say that goats don't jump on keyboards, and yet here you are...

@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ we use our hooves like civilized animals

Goat milk is good, and goat cheese is almost as good as cheddar.

^

@Downgoat are you on your ipad again?

2:39 AM
Which kind of cheddar?

@himarmjr no :|
@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ cheddar cheddar

@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ Downgoat themself doesn't jump on keyboards. They type (clumsily) on them.

Woah, you changed your name again. O_O

@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ oooooh idea v
@Downgoat make your lang cheddar sharp (get it, c# and sharp cheddar)

2:39 AM
Cheddar:T_REPL> if (avocad) { juic() }
Symbol(er_UNEXPECTED_TOKEN)
D:

what i do

@himarmjr Yea, for some reason he occasionally jumps on my freaking desk when I'm not home. I have no idea how to stop it, since he never does it when I'm here.

reddit is down
ppcg is dead
@Bits lol
our dog likes the couch only when we aren't home.

2:42 AM
@himarmjr The couch I can understand. My desk isn't exactly comfortable like a couch though. It's not even like he rummages through the stuff on the desk either.
It looks like he just hops up here, steps on some random keys (which often make it to TNB), knocks over my speaker, and hops down :/

you should take the legs of the desk so next time he does it the desk breaks

Hmm. It's probably not worth replacing both monitors.

@HelkaHomba We've had this discussion
@Downgoat Yes, I am :)

@Bits huh
@Bits lol
next tmie let us know the messages he sends
@ZachGates any particular reason why?

Oh, they're all in the transcript. He seems to like the numpad in particular. Usually it's something like 0.+

2:46 AM
don't worry @ZachGates, the only reason we have against you is that darn "Python" you code in, like wtf

15 hours ago, by Leaky Nun

@himarmjr Who are you rooting for?

@LeakyNun seems to be having the same problem with his dog :P

@Quill ;)

Q: Minimum number of paths needed to enforce a Eularian Path

Nathan MerrillGiven a graph $G$ with at least 1 Eulerian Path (a path that travels every edge exactly once). I would like to find the minimal number of edges that, if traversed as a Trail (an edge is never repeated), implies a Eulerian Path. For example, in the following graph: We need two edges: $[1, 4]$...

@ZachGates idk

2:53 AM
@NathanMerrill -1 not enough greek letters

prolly bernie, because it stops me from making a important decision.

sorry :)

> [an] Eulerian

ah, fixed the spelling

@himarmjr ;_; why is your vote not for Chatgoat or Marky

2:53 AM
not the grammar
actually, is it [an]?

Not with brackets, no.

@himarmjr Are you a fan of giving things to people who don't deserve them?

when I say it out loud, I say "a eularian"

@Downgoat o_O you didn't know marky v2.0 = chatgoat v3.0 = bernie

just like "a unicycle"

2:54 AM
@ZachGates No, but I am in favor of supporting them and helping them progress.

Well, "Euler" is pronounced like "oiler", which starts with a vowel sound, hence "an".

@himarmjr ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I can't agree there

Euclid is the one that starts like "yoo", like unicycle. :P

@Downgoat because both of them will consume their constituents into their vast demon souls if they get elected

@ZachGates that's fine

2:55 AM
oh, so I'm mispronouncing :)

but what about The Wall and such?

@himarmjr Agreed

@Maltysen that's just marky

@NathanMerrill It's an extremely common mistake. I was corrected in 9th grade or so by my math teacher. :P

@El'endiaStarman not in dutch

@Maltysen Wow the reviews...
> Lmfao I got the game just to let you know a girl will never be president if the was there would be a world war every month lmfao no im not a sexist but its not gonna happen

the games pretty well done though, I have it

@Bits Not a sexist? Pffft. :P

@Bits This just makes me sad

2:57 AM
@AlexA. don't be
they're just trolls lol

A lot of the reviews aren't so bad now that I look at more. That was the first one listed though (sorted by "helpfulness", sadly) :/

@Bits it was a helpful review, I guess ;P

Q: What's so great about 1729?

NoOneIsHereThis is not a duplicate of this question. This is asking for the nth number that can be represented as the sum of two cubes in two different ways, while that is asking for the n-th number that can be expressed as the sum of two cubes in n ways. Introduction I was just watching The man who knew ...

@NewMainPosts idk what's so great about it, you tell me.

I’ve always liked languages that combine FP and OOP: – Smalltalk (its blocks are FP) – CLOS (great OOP system) – JavaScript – OCaml

2:59 AM
FPOOP

@Quill :c he forgot Cheddar
2 days ago, by Downgoat
cheddar lang is best lang

since when is JavaScript functional?

> fvck trump
.-.

hmmm, nevermind. After looking at Array.prototype, there are quite a few functional functions

@NathanMerrill most JS >= ES5 is very functional
JS not heavily utilizing functional functions is bad JS

3:11 AM
well, funny enough, when I was actually gaining expertise with JS, I was also learning a functional language at the same time
so I was trying to make my JS as functional as possible as well
so I just assumed that my functional way of coding was more related to my preference, not the nature of the language
although, I really didn't know about all of the stuff found in Arrays.prototype
I was using JQuery map, foreach, and the like

@NathanMerrill yuck jQuery

@ZachGates What specifically are you referring to?

3:25 AM
@HelkaHomba Socialism

@ZachGates Socialism isn't necessarily giving things to people who don't deserve it, it's to people who are less fortunate then some of us are.
2

@ZachGates define 'deserve'

@Downgoat Give me an example of some who is less fortunate & deserving
@orlp Someone is "deserving" when they have done something for which they should get something in return

@ZachGates why?
life isn't fair

Why what?

3:30 AM
why should you only get things for which you have done things
does a person born blind deserve less?

@ZachGates I mean what specific Bernie Sanders plans/quotes suggest he wants to give things to people who don't deserve them?
I don't deny he has an affiliation with socialism, I'm just looking for something more concrete.

a depressed person? a delinquent with abusive parents? a homeless person who's house burned down? someone with an addiction to meth that no one wants to help?
focus less on who has done what to 'deserve', focus more on making the world a better place
4
and america is supposed to be the most christian western country...

@orlp Like you said, life's not fair

@ZachGates so let's try our best to make it sufferable

Why should anyone be forced to help someone? Especially by the government. I'm not saying you shouldn't help them; I'm saying it shouldn't be regulated/mandated

3:35 AM
@ZachGates And I'm saying you should be forced, because humans are inherently egotistical.

@orlp America is by no means a "Christian" country anymore.

@ZachGates that's not what I said
the most Christian

Yay! Politics! Something everyone can disagree on
8

It is not a Christian country whatsoever
There are Christians living in America, yes

But that's beside the point (I was wrong either way after looking it up; supposedly Poland is 94% christian making it the most christian western country)

3:37 AM
@orlp heh, it's understandable but yes, hypocritical - biblehub.com/matthew/19-24.htm

we should propose an "American Jesus"

@HelkaHomba I fail to see how that's hypocritical.

#triggered

@ZachGates I'm fairly relieved by the thought that if I become unconscious in a car accident I'll be rushed to a hospital by an ambulance. Likewise if I have alcohol/drug/unemployment/etc problems there are places I can go for help.

@HelkaHomba I don't agree, but I can understand that

3:40 AM
I'm willing to pay taxes for those kinds of insurances

I gtg to bed, bye!

@himarmjr bai!

bye
remember: drinkbai.com!!!

This is one of the weirdest bugs I've ever ran into.
You can't insert a slash (/) in V.

3:42 AM
@HelkaHomba I can agree to pay taxes for fire-fighters, paramedics, and (some) police officers

Are you sure it isn't an arachnid?
thankee for teh stars (this message may or may not get more stars than the previous one (this may not get stars because of the previous statment (this message may get stars to be annoying in light of the previous statement (GIMME TEH STARZ (or not)))))
2
I predicted correctly in my mind, but not in my message. :/
why do stars have to be so weird

I just spent an hour trying to figure out why Musescore wasn't playing sound before realizing I installed a new kernel but forgot to reboot.
I am really dumb

lol

@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ I just mean that most US Christians surely aren't about to give their possessions away as the Bible suggests. I don't blame them or anything - I'm not about to either and the Bible (or any book) cannot possibly be taken that literally.

> I installed a new kernel ... I am really dumb
Something doesn't add up there...

3:47 AM
No, I mean I upgraded to the new kernel version via my package manager.

Credit withdrawn :P

Which gave me all the modules for that version, but I was still on the old version... >_>

@Doorknob I didn't know you use musescore. I used to use it all the time.
Are you a musician?

Uh, kinda? Not a very good one. :P

Which instrument(s)?

3:50 AM
Piano/viola

Cool. I like piano a lot. I've never played a string-based instrument like violin or viola though.

I use musescore as well
and it's the best program, even compared to paid composition software
(like finale)

Yeah, I've tried several and it's the one I like the best

the ability to "type" out a score is really easy (easier than other programs, I've found)
which is actually what matters the most to me

@ZachGates But you trust in yourself (and your family and your friends) to never succumb to other types of neediness? I can understand that. I doubt I'll ever become an alcoholic or drug addict, or even be extremely affected by someone else who is, but I freely admit it's far from an impossibility.
