11:00 PM
@Pietu1998 Also: nordsec.oulu.fi

> logging into devices using their default, factory-set passwords

It's soon, but the schedule shows some quality content.

@mınxomaτ That seems cool. I doubt I can make it this year, but would definitely be a good idea in the future

Yep.

@ASCII-only D: Looks like those devices need a random default password

11:04 PM
@Beta Decay I believe I have completed your bounty: codegolf.stackexchange.com/a/97005/56656

@LuisMendo Done.

@WheatWizard looks at screenshot So that's who Wheat Wizard is

Q: Does the code terminate?

Bolton BaileyThis is a code golf challenge I thought of with a mathematical bent. The challenge is to write the shortest code possible such that is an open question whether or not the code terminates. An example of what I mean could be the following piece of python code, adapted from an anwser to this cs stac...

@mınxomaτ no wonder all my tor exit nodes are located in the netherlands
@TuxCopter Also from the breached FTP server:
~
> cat olegon.ru_passwords.txt
At olegon.ru and inima.org
you can use code 089098675@Ienrf!

And Romania. They have dirt cheap Gigiabit internet.

11:13 PM
@NewMainPosts Doesn't that terminate instantly

@mınxomaτ wat

@ASCII-only this, I think it should be while not

@Pietu1998 Yeah

I think your logic in the sample code is backwards. Don't you want while not is_perfect(n):...? — DJMcMayhem 55 secs ago
Cool challenge though!

npw to implement the most important char in my language
%
imagine if someone proved the collatz conjecture just to make the pyth answer invalid

11:22 PM
Can I shorten this down?
p=lambda n:1if 0not in[n%x for x in range(2,n)]else 0

@Qwerp-Derp p=lambda n:0not in[n%x for x in range(2,n)]

ninja'd
also
lambda n:all(n%x for x in range(2,n))
if 0 is there, it evaluates to false, else true

@Dennis Thank you!

@DestructibleWatermelon g=lambda n,k=2:n==k or g(n,k+1)and n%k

Not sure if this works for goldbach conjecture
p=lambda n:all(n%x for x in range(2,n))
g=lambda n:g(n+2)if n in[b+c for b in range(n)for c in range(n)if p(b)and p(c)]else 0

11:31 PM
@Qwerp-Derp Your first lambda is wrong
No wait, that's a prime tester?

First one is prime tester
second one is goldbach

Nvmd then

Since you need to assign the lambda to a variable the recursive one is shorter
p=lambda n,k=2:n<=k or p(n,k+1)and n%k
or in your case, even this works
p=lambda n,k=2:n<=k or n%k*p(n,k+1)
Also, you can replace and with *
@Qwerp

Yup

11:35 PM
@quartata I turned off toaster settings and my frame-rate doubled.

As in, just the stability config?

no, just his TF2 graphic settings

@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ I'm talking about which graphics config he's using
There's stability and toaster

What about the twin prime conjecture?

11:37 PM
I don't think that would work for this challenge

@quartata I went as low as I could in terms of framerate.

Which graphics config are you using? Are you using Chris's?

How can I shorten g?

@Qwerp-Derp You need something that isn't of the form "it's unknown if infinite solutions exist", but is of the form "it's unknown whether this applies to everything"

True

11:40 PM
g=lambda n:g(n+2)if[0for b in range(n)if p(b)*p(n-b)]else 0
should work

@quartata idk
none anymore

Wow, your computer makes no sense
I can only blame Windows 8.
If it was just the toaster config causing problems I'd say that's because of CPU issues
But
Same hardware, you're getting 70 fps I'm getting 350

The only difference is OS

Oh geez I'm not sure what to do for this review

11:41 PM
It's fairly obvious

my computer is haunted, you should know that

I'm leaning towards reject but not sure what reason to pick

my bro gets 2x better frames than I do, identical computers

@DJMcMayhem Reject; clearly conflicts with author's intent

@Pietu1998 So it basically fills up an array with 0's, if I understand correctly?

11:44 PM
It makes an array with a 0 for every prime b, for which n-b is also prime, i.e. there exists c=n-b which is prime and n=b+c
Also, if you're not interested in the return value, you could do
g=lambda n:not[0for b in range(n)if p(b)*p(n-b)]or g(n+2)

@NathanMerrill ;_; y u put happy face Q___Q

@Downgoat Thought you were trichoplax for a second; was super confused

:/ I can use avatar confusion to my advatage so people will start taking me seriously :O :D

I think they effectively switched

Anyone else's internet affected by the cyberattacks?

11:48 PM
@mınxomaτ how did you get your skill level
@HelkaHomba Mine!
Like, a lot

@Qwerp There might be a problem. The code (including the original) also considers the pair (1,n-1) which matches for e.g. n=8. This might miss counterexamples, so the range in g should probably be range(3,n).

I'm using Tor though so everything works well
80% of sites are down for me.

No problems in Finland \o/

@HelkaHomba Switch your DNS servers to OpenDNS. They have no downtime.

@Pietu1998 diversity counter overflowed

11:49 PM
Keep in mind that your ISP might still ignore your DNS settings

@noɥʇʎPʎzɐɹC use bigint

I'm ok now but my internet was non existent last night

@Pietu1998 too small

@noɥʇʎPʎzɐɹC that's what she said

@HelkaHomba Tor Browser, see PSA to the right

11:53 PM
chat dies

basically

(or, everyone else's internet dies)

btw nice to see you around again. (at least, it seemed like you were absent)

I see how that can become a problem during election day btw.

@mınxomaτ you are so right

11:54 PM
oh right, usa uses electronic voting now

also ESTONIA. If you can intercept votes without people noticing, you got 52% of the electorate.

@Pietu1998 WAIT WAT

I can see some bigger problems with the electronic voting though

@noɥʇʎPʎzɐɹC 0/10 Tor is bad just use OpenDNS

possibly related to some statements by a certain candidate

11:55 PM
THIS IS VERY BAD IDEA BRB EXERCISING DEMOCRACY

@Pietu1998 Not that, I mean information. Not only the internet, but TV networks rely on data now. No more pumping microwaves into the air, pretty much all internet-based (or at least dependent).

Huh. Just got the "pundit" badge.

@ASCII-only meh, ma browser is slower than Tor

feels old for still using DVB-T

@noɥʇʎPʎzɐɹC ma?

11:55 PM
@Pietu1998 Do we? I've never voted online, always by absentee ballot. And I imagine electronic voting machines that do connect online can save their vote data locally.

@ASCII-only my but corrputed on purpose

@Pietu1998 Also carried over the internet from the network to the transmission station for some part.

@noɥʇʎPʎzɐɹC How is it slower than Tor

@ASCII-only dunno, but it is slower
@mınxomaτ so what have your automated tools found recently?

Many things.
You know, NDA and stuff.

11:58 PM
@mınxomaτ I live close enough to the news studio that the signal probably doesn't leave the studio area before microwaves

@mınxomaτ list ONE major recent non false positive. That they denied you and you didn't NDA.
Also why do they care about NDAs anyways?
Silly laymen

@Pietu1998 Fine, but field reporters and mobile stations send their data over bonded 4G. Knock the mobile phone provider's DNS or NAT offline.
