@Whaaaaaat for the same reasons I'll say G.I.F. image
funny that it was the first hit on "you bun too" in google ;)

I love The Onion!! :D
My absolute favorite from The Onion: youtu.be/9BnLbv6QYcA

3:41 AM
Meanwhile, I went to computer lab to study, and ended up working on my random math python app

user139252
Sounds more fun @Serg

@Terrance I was talking about the Mac Pro having those specs, not this Mac Mini

Layout is good, I figured out there's timers . . . but I need to somehow make it somehow . . . wait for the user input from a line edit
@TheBrownOne actually it is, I think it's first GUI project that I'm doing outside of classes . . . I've done Visual Basic long ago ,but that was pain . . . But when i am working on something i am interested in - that's fun

And I'm not trolling. I can send you pictures of the inside of this thing if you need proof (may take a few days to get into my Dad's office though)
And @JourneymanGeek there are plenty of ports for 4 monitors. It's got 6 Thunderbolt 2.0 ports.
And I was wrong, it's a 6-core@3.5
And it's not true that you can't customize a mac, nor is it true that you have to have all-Apple components. You just need to know what you're doing

@TheBrownOne wanna see the codez ?

3:46 AM
@Terrance, my apple keyboard have PgUp, PgDn, and a full numpad
Anyways, that's all I'll say

Oh Apple:

I know how to handle Apple Hating. I'm just glad that I know you guys better now so I know not to talk about relationships...

> "Apps with metadata that mentions the name of any other computer platform will be rejected"

@NathanOsman so basically , if you're not 100% with us, then you're against us

guys, please, act mature

3:48 AM
Something like that.

@Daniel there are a lot of immature people here, of similar age to yourself I believe ;)

@Daniel That was hours ago, and that conversation is long gone. No need to defend.

I know @Terrance, that why I said I would shut up now
*on that topic

Shush ya'll.

It did carry on way too long IMO.

3:49 AM
Don't feed the fruit lovers

Starred @James

Says the man who uses a Mac, @James ;)

Wait, did I interrupt an Apple conversation to talk about... Apple?

@NathanOsman yeah, you did xD

Scrolls up...

3:50 AM
@Seth I'm not a fruit lover. I'm simply chained to Adobe.

@James That was in reference to your previous message.

lol

@NathanOsman you did

Heh, my timing is impeccable.

WOW! Another Ubunto

3:50 AM
Indentation in python is going to fsck my brain up . . . To some extend it's fun, but it's worse than semicolons

wow

But seriously, lets just talk to @NathanOsman about how awesome his timing was. or python indentation.

@Terrance ubunto is the most common. Happens every day :/

@NathanOsman it was sooooo 5 hours ago
5
@Seth I know, it is just funny that the name is right in front of them

Well it looks like I've lost the sidebar war

3:51 AM
@James Python indentation can be a blessing and a curse. Mostly a blessing..

^

Python indentation! Yes!

these comments make my day:
@Seth.. Thank you very much for the quick reply.... I will right away continue with the installation. Since I'm not touching the windows partitions, it will be remain in its primary partitions. You made my day.. Thanks again.. :-) — SubinR 1 min ago

Spaces vs. tabs. Tabs FTW.

Tabs set up as spaces. FTW ;P

3:52 AM
@Seth I had python constantly complain about a method, and seemingly it was all alighned

So

(Somebody said "indentation"...)

But it was still complaining

i saw this funny thing the other day

@NathanOsman why not both ?

3:53 AM
@Serg you probably mixed a space and a tab ;p

:)

about what top 100 $language repos on GitHub used for their indentation

WHO IS STARRING ALL THE THINGS. STAHP.

Embarrassed?

Mixed tabs and spaces?? Did I hear that right?!?!

3:53 AM
No, it's just annoying. Stars are really meant for things everyone finds interesting. If other people aren't starring the stuff that's a pretty clear sign it isn't interesting.

<.<
@NathanOsman yes sir you did . . . LEt's be zen as fsck, use both, ying and yang and sh*t

OK me stop now

And trust me, people take this seriously ;)
So what'd you read @James?

Hey, we just got out of a time war @Seth. There will be aftermath (like stars flying around)

Ruby is the only language that had 100% using the same convention.

3:55 AM
really? LOL

What about BASIC @James

Not even Rust?

I say that in jest. HOWEVER, Go uses tabs.
So there's that.

Rust still had some mixed stuff
@NathanOsman Right, but how many tabs

Personally I like Progress

3:55 AM
Yeah I'm trying to find it

It's all 100% standardized. Go enforces a code formatting policy.

So that's what I have right now

Let's debate that :D

3:56 AM
That's Progress

There we go

@Daniel well the website definitely looks like progress :P

Will need add line edit and answer checking later . . . Probably that will make a recursive call to the function so that it loops over and over

very funny @Seth
It's a language

@James ooh, Go and Clojure are very close.

3:58 AM
a very useful language, one with which my Dad has made literally tens of millions of US$ with

Peace y'all! I am going to go play some Train Simulator!

@Seth But ruby is literally the only one that has 100% of its code on the same convention.
Take that, rest of the world!

goes to commit some Ruby code with different formatting

@Terrance hold on, let me hop on your train , drive me back home

lol

3:59 AM
Wow, Scala is really close too. Did not expect that.

So, I'm off
bye

night!

Night.

Night!

@James I don't get how any Go code got checked in with spaces. Whoever did that forgot to run "go fmt".
Shame on them.

4:00 AM
@NathanOsman or this was pre fmt.

Oh, good point...
Shame on them for not maintaining their source code then :D

user139252
@NathanOsman spaces make more sense

or we could totally drop that and just use jQuery.
3

@TheBrownOne how?

user139252
Different IDEs use different tabs, things end up looking funny

4:02 AM
Also:

btw @James, it is nice to have you around again. PIN THIS TAB!!! :P

> Apps that misspell Apple product names in their App name (i.e., GPS for Imac, iTunz) will be rejected

wow, Apple.

@Seth it's pinned

i just don't always use this browser

4:03 AM
Time for home work. Have a good night!

btw, did you guys hear that a Chinese company is trying to buy Opera?

cya @TheBrownOne!

g'night!

So far this year, I've used Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Safari. And I don't mean "tested" I mean "browsed hundreds of pages during normal use".

@NathanOsman I'm mostly Firefox, Chrome and Safari
I just haven't been able to get behind Edge

4:04 AM
Safari is a nice experience on OS X.

Me either.

Yeah, Edge is responsive and feels fresh, but I find it a bit buggy.

Safari is cool, i just don't like it. Something about a browser that deliberately breaks standards makes me pause.

That's what I appreciate about Edge. They're actually setting the standard for standards compliance (or at least trying to). Unlike previous versions of IE..

Oh. I also tried Vivaldi, but dude - those bugs...

4:06 AM
@Seth Yup!

NitroShare for Android... coming soon...

yay :D
> I used to do that using GIMP. But now I have started using Fotowall and dumped GIMP due to it's simplicity
wait, wut?

Of course it'll be simpler.

I first read that as "I dumped GIMP due to its simplicity".
Oh English..

Night all

night!

What is the ideal procedure to go on? I tried to run it on Ubuntu 9.10 still doesn't work.

I will be heading to bed in a few minutes myself.

But the driver polls the wireless device certainly. Checked with strace.
The driver was written for Ubuntu 9.10 only

4:24 AM
Did you upgrade to 15.10?
15.04 is no longer supported and will not receive any security updates.
Honestly though, I doubt you are going to get it to work.. 9.10 was a long time ago. A very long time ago. And it's a rather niche device.

yeah, I upgraded.

I'd edit the question to mention that.

4:52 AM
@Serg LOL I wish I was driving a real train. So much fun!

5:02 AM
That sounds really cool!

Yay - I finally figured out how to get 1280x800 in an OS X guest.

@Serg What about him?

Hooray for arcane and obscure VBoxManage commands :D

@NathanOsman That's cool! I can't get the Hackintosh to run on mine. I believe it is because I use AMD, and the patches just won't install right. :(
Oh well, my MacBook runs it fine

6:03 AM
That's what I'm doing :P
(Running OS X in an OS X host.)

oh, are we talking about hackintosh?

Nope.

i'm the resident non-expert on that topic!
awww

It's enough trouble getting the guest to play nice on an OS X host.

@NathanOsman Ah, I see.

6:04 AM
So. Many. Issues.

@Whaaaaaat I am so not an expert on Hackintosh either

And it doesn't help that I decided to save money and buy a Mac Mini with 4 GB of RAM.
>.<

if you wanna hack, just lemme know and i'll try to "help"

@Terrance he's an idiot :p That's why i hate russians. They say one thing, but mean the other

@serg Ah, OK

6:06 AM
Let's keep the OS X guest as far away from my other machines as possible...

But it works better on a *nix host!

Why?

It just does!
Once you get Clover installed and working, it's all smooth sailing

That makes no sense, but then again... we're talking Apple here.

You need to use iVM for good virtual machines on OS X.
($79.99)

6:07 AM
Now it's hanging on the login screen.

vmware seems to do better at running OSX, but ymmv
i had no problems doing a vanilla + clover install on VBox Windows

Yeah, but doesn't VMWare limit commercial use?

Yes.
But they don't have to know

This conversation is becoming less and less legal with each message :P

If you dig up Steve Jobs' body and place it in front of your VM, his ghost will input an override to make it work
Why can't you just run whatever you need on OSX directly?

6:11 AM
I need a special environment for testing.

A virtual machine is considered "too complicated for regular users" by Apple, so no-support.
just do a vanilla-clover under vbox in Ubuntu.

Apple is such a pain. Expensive hardware. Expensive developer program. Arcane requirements. All of this so that other poor Apple users can use my software.

welcome to Apple.
Where you need to PAY them to make software FOR them.

eh, could be worse. at least you can't change your encrypted drive password from the internet.
wait...

6:15 AM
I still don't understand how this company exists to this day with the prices they put onto their computers. Selling false sense of luxury perhaps ?

That is what they're best at

@Serg Bingo. People like them because they're shiny and it has an (admittedly) very well-designed UI

@Serg It's because the "pros" use their gear. Musicians, video editors, photographers, etc.
They appeal to the types of people with lots to spend.

@NathanOsman creative types, not actual pros.

I might need to drop out of this conversation, as some deep feelings that I have for Apple, and I mean some deep dark feelings. Nothing happy about that at all.

6:17 AM
I put it in quotes :P

you won't see a sysadmin choosing OS X over Windows.
Or Ubuntu.

@Terrance We can change the topic if need be.
@Whaaaaaat A thousand times this.

@NathanOsman It is all good. I can handle myself. I'll be careful. :)

For school and basic stuff that doesn't need a lot of power, I'm actually very happy with my Hack. It looks clean and it works beautifully for that. But the moment I need to do serious work or I want to have some fun, hello reboot!

I have to confess, iMovie - as long as it doesn't crash - works fairly well.

6:18 AM
@Whaaaaaat at the movie studio I worked at, they installed X-Servers, and man, those things were hard to configure!

However, I found that it crashes a lot.

I could never get Windows to join the domain

but it's a cycle.
apple advertises to creative people so they buy apple products
the software companies then have to pour more work into Apple to make it fit their demands

Apple can join a Windows Domain, but Windows CANNOT join an Apple Domain. Totally worthless when it comes to servers

And as a result, the Windows/Linux ecosystem loses the software that goes to the Apple ecosystem, which cements OSX as the "creative OS," which further pushes development of creative tools to them.

6:20 AM
Number of people I've met using Apple Server: 0.

1*
I ran it out of curiosity once in a VM.

I have in the past, but no more for me EVER!

Hated it.
So, 2.

@MuditKapil Welcome to the normal world.
With ISPs, you pay for "up to" X speed.
Meaning, that's the max speed you can get, but they really can give you anything below that limit.

6:42 AM
We get the speed we pay for. We pay for 1 Mbps and we get 1 Mpbs :D

I pay for 3 Mbps, I get anywhere between 128Kbps - 3Mbps
I hate my ISP
And the speed control is in the router I bought from them.

ehm in general you pay for 10mbit and get 4mbit :P
though in the Netherlands ISPs have been warned a few times and have started doing what they claim it should be.

So, technically, if I bought it, can't I change it?

Get a new router :D

Not that easy

@JacobVlijm Actually she can't (less than 15 reputation), but that's a useful instruction for the future. >:)

11:45 AM
@kos AAaarghh, I keep forgetting that..

Hello @kos :)

kos
Is there actually a popup or something instructing the user they can upvote after 15 reputation? I can't remember...
Morning @cl-netbox!

@kos no I don't think that there is a pop-up.

kos
I mean, when accepting a question. No? That explains why I've got answers accepted and not upvoted by users with reputation > 15 sometimes. Or maybe they just didn't like my answer too much...

@kos I think more people than we assume are completely or partially unfamiliar with the voting system...

11:51 AM
@kos no this happens to me very often as well
@JacobVlijm that exactly is the point

kos
@JacobVlijm Seems like that's the case. I've been a user of Stack Overflow for a long time before registering there, so maybe I was somehow more familiar with the fact that you can vote on answers than the average user by the time I registered. Likely not all users are enough familiar with the system by the time they post the first time.

@kos I know we (at least I) should be aware of that before getting grumpy sometimes....
Well, I do know but forget often. OP seems very friendly.

kos
@JacobVlijm Yeah, I know. If I put a considerable effort into writing an answer I usually ping the user with a gentle reminder to make them aware that they can accept the answer, just to make sure they know.
@JacobVlijm Yes she is. She might be from around my area judging from the name (it's a very widespread name in Tuscany, which is where I live). Though she might as well be living at the antipodes per what we know. :)

Q: After updating ubuntu too 16.04 due to driver issues neatbeans and eclipse have stoped working

ThijserI just updated from ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04 and it was a bumpy ride with damaged drivers along the way, probably because of the fact that 14.04 was missing two important drivers that 16.04 did have. Now after restoring my drivers and a lot of systems I have a problem: whenever I create a new java...

^^ apparently 16.04 is off topic here.

@Thijser - yes - so why are you not filing bug reports?

@Thijser: Cross-posting (posting the same question on multiple sites) is usually frowned upon by the way.

@Rinzwind not sure if it's an issue or a bug.
