whew :p

@Zacharee1 I have root, need bootloader unlock.

@Seth darn

@Zacharee1 ಠ_ಠ

I wonder if that could help with it though....
@Seth :3

I believe the big problem is that Verizon enforces boot image signatures.

9:02 PM
TIL how complex and powerful git rebase can be.
(I may have used "git push -f" a couple times. Shhh... don't tell anyone.)
@Seth which is the primary repository on GitHub for Unity Tweak?
Search is turning up more than one...

Okay, thanks.

What is the unicode value for the Swastika?

user136984
9:24 PM
I need to block the character in a program I am making but the code requires the unicode value and I don't know what that is.

Have a look at Wikipedia:
The swastika (also known as the Hakenkreuz, gammadion cross, cross cramponnée, croix gammée, fylfot, or tetraskelion) (as a character: 卐) is an ancient religious symbol and the Indian symbol of peace and continuity that generally takes the form of an equilateral cross, with four legs each bent at 90 degrees. It is considered to be a sacred and auspicious symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism and dates back at least 11,000 years. It continues to be commonly used as a religious symbol in Indian religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. Western literature's older term for the symbol,...

@MarkYisri Right, thanks! :)

user136984
Ah yes, the Unicode values are listed there.

user136984
Under the Chinese section apparently.

user136984
That's strange, I didn't know they had anything to do with it. I thought it was Indian, Buddhist, and Nazi (all different meanings obviously -- the first two in the list used it as a peace symbol)...

9:33 PM
Curious, is there a C programming room on Stack Exchange?
@NathanOsman I made Cloud9 work. Just had to update Chrome

Ah.

 C

C stands for Control.

Off-topic, but has anyone (especially Gmail users) been receiving this kind of email

@IanC i pushed to git a new file. gnome sort. it's sort of old homework, but i put a spin on it and split a few parts into functions. Feel free to play with the code.

  Nice meet you i'm Ms happie you look nice on fb how you doing i hope fine?
It's really weird

@MarkYisri Nope, but I'd flag as spam immediately.

9:45 PM
@MarkYisri typical spam with hopes of phishing you out, nothing weird about it

@MarkYisri sounds like a nice person, totally worthy of your trust and friendship, and he said you look nice! Come on!
@Serg I'll take a look! :)

@AndroidDev sure
for what reason?

I was being ironic about Ms happie, before I terdon here and end up making you get phished :p

@IanC I know
@IanC you changed your logo?

9:47 PM
aaand another person starred my udisks-indicator repo ^_^ happeh

and I received other email from her too:

@MarkYisri OT

  Nice meet you i'm Ms happie by name how you doing i hope fine? email me back for more communication okay
very weird
I think someone might be trying to steal my info

@MarkYisri I did, people were confusing me with other users a lot, so I just looked for some random surfboard photo on google to make it different :p

@AndroidDev OT for what?

9:48 PM
@MarkYisri Wait, you can't VTC because you don't have 3k rep yet.

@MarkYisri I think so, but they kind of suck at it.. haha

I can, @AndroidDev for what reason should I OT

@MarkYisri ain't nobody stole anything yet, if you didn't respond to email. Just ignore and trash it

who is called Ms happie? That's reason enough not to trust someone!

@MarkYisri OT = Off Topic
@IanC +1

9:49 PM
gosh, I really wanna skip the 3rd lecture
quizzes don't even count towards the grade

@AndroidDev I know, but when I click off-topic it gives me a bunch of options as to why it is off-topic

@Serg of....

@Serg don't be lazy, it costs you

@MarkYisri Not about Ubuntu.

Something bizarre is happening with local packets...

9:50 PM
@AndroidDev of Digital and Analog communication
@MarkYisri i had 1 hour of sleep last night. I wanna just pass out

@Serg why 1 hour?

@MarkYisri That's a flag not a CV. It doesn't actually go towards closing the question, but puts it in the CV queue if there aren't any CVs

Oh, I see

4098 bytes are showing up as 4096 bytes when received by the server.

@NathanOsman HAX

9:52 PM
@AndroidDev On localhost???

@MarkYisri i was studying till 3 am, then couldn't fall asleep because of thinking about life and self loathing, and finally managed to fall asleep at 5, but i need to wake up at 6 for college

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Serg Have you tried melatonin?

@Zacharee1 nope

Have you tried a white noise generator?

9:52 PM
@NathanOsman Well that's kinda strange.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
hey, why isn't it escaping anymore??

@NathanOsman yes. and asmr. love that stuff. listening almost every night

@Serg Turn on a noisy fan or something (or white noise gen like @NathanOsman suggested) and use melatonin

It works for smaller packets - 12 bytes in, 12 bytes out.

9:54 PM
@NathanOsman maybe they're powering @Serg's white noise generator

lol

@NathanOsman what protocol by the way ?

@AndroidDev The question will not die, as long as archive.org remains online, thanks to me.

SergPPS

@Serg Straight TCP.

9:56 PM
What kind of a question this???

@NathanOsman got wireshark ? capture the packets and see what's going on.

Yeah, good idea.
I'm very curious here.

@Serg But if he captures all the packets, then he'll receive none! :P:P:P:P

@Zacharee1 good joke
did you see my invite to CoyoteBot?

@Zacharee1 he'll be a TCP sports fisherman, capture and release them

9:58 PM
And congratulations on the Night@StackExchange script

@Serg lol
@MarkYisri yes I saw. Just don't want to join another room quite yet. I have enough to distract me and a bot isn't going to help :p

so, i can either ditch last lecture and go home, or wait 3 hours, be in class for 1 hour, and then go home

Q: How to overcome SSHFS error "Software caused connection abort" during copying files

FrodikI'm experiencing same problem on two different computers, running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. I am copying from server (also 14.04) over SSHFS large amount of data and files (few gigabytes). Probably not.

10:06 PM
ok, do i save money or get a burger ? should i stay or should i go ?
if i stay it will be trouble . . .

Wireshark is showing that some of the data is truncated.
I have 4097 bytes + CRLF and the very last byte (before the CRLF) is being dropped.

well there's your 4098 bytes
but why last one is dropped ?
that should only happen if dupe packet is received

I know, it's so weird.
Aha.

what is it ?

This just keeps getting weirder.
If I send 4096+CRLF bytes, only 4094+CRLF are received.

10:11 PM
@NathanOsman what about 4095+CRLF

I'm beginning to wonder if this is caused by telnet, which I am using for sending the data.

Going for a shower. See you guys in ~30 min

@MarkYisri 4093+CRLF.

@NathanOsman what about larger amount of data ?

Good question. Let's try that.

10:13 PM
uhm, could it have something to do with the break line representation? (just thinking loud)
considering it's always the last couple bytes on the data being lost

saw two girls, one asian one white, speak quite good Japanese
admire people who manage to learn a language to some degree

Sure enough... 8192 bytes over the wire truncated to 4094+CRLF.

I think the truncation has to do with the MSS?

@NathanOsman so, buffer size issue ?

Probably.

10:15 PM
or telnet's idiosyncrasies ?

Could be telnet.
I'll check the manpage.

HOLY GOATS
@MarkYisri Yeah, WolfBot 1.1 is having issues. @NathanOsman, Python is being stupid.
I'm trying to save an Object to an array, but it's returning as None for some dumb reason.
(as in, none is getting saved, not the object)

@KazWolfe remember the Russian embasy hack ?

yes, i do.

you're decent in python, right?

somehow i am not convinced in their seriousness
@KazWolfe decent . . . I'd say slightly above noob level

better than me then
I can't save an Object into an Array.
It just magically transmutes itself into None.

So have you guys heard about the camera glass on the V20 cracking?
kind of like the Nexus 6P's problem

    print("Joined room " + str(roomObject.id))
    roomWatcher = roomObject.watch(on_message)

    oldRoomlist = SESSION_STORAGE.get("in_rooms", [])

what about the object creation itself ? client.get_room(room) , is this none ? is room some bad value ?

no it returns an object
or str(roomObject) doesn't return none
and it works, because the room is joined

@ParanoidPanda maybe it is

i think the issue with str there somewhere, because as far asbi can see, the object is there, and it's not altered bu anything

@KazWolfe is this run off your personal machine?

yep.
@Serg before anything, it's stored as an array.
afterwards, it becomes none, which makes no bloody sense.

Here's a weird thing from Google:
I typed a search, and this happened:

user136984
@MarkYisri: Knew I'd seen it before!

10:49 PM
@KazWolfe so it actually is unset ? or does it only happen when you call str on it ?

But when I click repeat the search it works fine.
And shows me the results.
Yet they are "very similar".

@MarkYisri works fine for me

For what it's worth, text-based protocols have one killer advantage: you can interact with them by hand.
Nothing says awesome like sending an email by hand with telnet.

Mr. Bot, how are you ?
@KazWolfe i came uo with new self - introduction for your bot. " Bot, WolfBot!"
totally not james bond ripoff

when I install openssh-server is it already configured?

11:12 PM
yes. It'll run ok. if you need to disable root login or stuff like that then you need to configure
@MarkYisri

I get this error:
Permission denied (publickey).

11:24 PM
I think you have to create the ssh-key first
using ssh-keygen

ooo
i should make wolfbot post tweets in here

chaatty chupacabra?

@KazWolfe No. But you can quote him in here.

but can george?

11:32 PM
@NathanOsman you should make the tweets credit the users imo

or... what you're saying is set up wolfbot to grab tweets. And then set up my own account as a bot to quote WolfBot?
That's a good idea, @NathanOsman!

lol

@Zacharee1 We already had this discussion.

Does this bypass SafetyNet?

11:53 PM
So Rowhammer and Dirty Cow? xda-developers.com/…
@KazWolfe it's root. Probably not

yay, eggsploits

@Zacharee1 Root trips safetynet.
Usually. Systemless root doesn't (yet), but most root methods do.

@KazWolfe I know. That's what I was saying

oh
nevermind, misread

@KazWolfe It does. CF made a workaround, but it's getting harder
unlocked bootloaders, even if not rooted, also trip it now

11:54 PM
i just want root and Android Pay ;-;

There is a bypass for the OP3 though

At least it's a universal root! Now I can root stuff!
I'm going to have to try this with the Android emulator.
If I can figure out how that code works.

@Zacharee1 for what, root and safetynet?

@KazWolfe well for root it's universal, but for unlocked bootloader it's only for the OP3 right now

bleh.

11:59 PM
Well you're getting an OP3
