> nevermind. got it.
need to learn to read -_-

jrg
@Seth this in prep to run for mod?

@Rinzwind, nice answer!

where?
if so where is my upvote? >:-D

A: In gedit, what is the "file browser panel" plugin? What does it do?

RinzwindPress F9 and you will see how it works: Plugin active: Plugin inactive:

oh editted in 2 pixs now >:)
so it is even better

7:06 PM
Those questions are funny and shocking
You got an upvote ;)

finally :=)
easy rep for an easy q :=D
btw did not know what he was talking about but took me 5 seconds to understand the plugin _O-

ahha

and 10 seconds to press f1 to f9 to find the panel _O-

that Q linked to a youtube video, Nixie pixel...
@Rinzwind, yeah, i think that guy, lazy. Or special, or something

hmm

7:09 PM
Lets see if nixie is on AU

that answer it will never get +10
I think she is?! I believe I saw it mention somewhere

Guys up-vote this please: askubuntu.com/a/420050/36315
HHHHMMM
under what name?

I can't! @blade19899

@Rinzwind Ah yeah.

@blade19899 no idea. could be 1 of her video's. I saw a few

7:11 PM
I just wanted to down vote everything she did her!

7:23 PM
Am nervous.... am deleting my old design of my website, and currently uploading a new one i have been working one for ages(Previously was working 7 days a week, so thats why ages)

Q: Trouble Installing MySQL workbench

user247553I am new to Ubuntu Linux. My Professor asked we download Ubuntu 10.10. I have made several attempts to download mysql as 32 and 64 bit in debian packages and it keeps failing. See below for what i wrote in the terminal. As you can see I get an error. I also get an error in the Unbuntu Software Ce...

He got a lousy professor >:D advising to install an EOL release :(

@jrg tbh, yes. I'm not 100% decided yet, but I'll probably do it.

@FEichinger What are post type 1 and 2?

@Seth 1 = Q, 2 = A

7:31 PM
kk

We're slowly but steadily going down. Questions worse than Answers.

@hbdgaf on and off

SO, on the other hand, actually has a slight increase at all times.
So does SU.

Man.. we're doing really bad.

U&L is fluctuating a lot, but staying a whole point above us.

7:32 PM
It's funny to see that U&L has hardly changed since it started.

Arqade is, well, Arqade.

@blade19899 I don't use client side email programs >_>

@Seth They come in handy, sometimes.

They're a pain.

@Seth, really? I hardly have issues with them :/
But: EuroBytes Free tutorials, as in free speech, not free beer. BETA

7:38 PM
@blade19899 aw, no free beer?

@Mateo Nope, not even for me.

just switch systems?

heh?

rewriting your site?

@Mateo Explain? cause i never worked with an CMS, i wrote everything by hand. So, explain :/

7:43 PM
oh, It looks like some things are broken is all

I figured as much.
I can spend working on it for ages
But taught i release it, and work on fixing bugs
The search box and navbar and sidebar are probably not working correctly?

they re-size weird

@Mateo Dude! Its ugly as hell i know! Eurobytes was my first attempt at trying to write in html/css. So yeah. I created some horrible monster

@blade19899 It's looking better. I think it is cool looking back at progress, nice work.

@Mateo Thanks! gimme a minute then i'll pas you my first draft of my website! ;) Youĺl scratch you eyes out :P

7:52 PM
wow, would you believe that I haven't changed the basic design of my site since 2010?

Damn!
Pass me your link!

you can see it is still targeted for around 800x600

yeah, design wise it doesn't look that bad. Not great, but, mine is really ugly! :p

the way i did the buttons transferred to touch nice
about time for another update, put some new stuff in, maybe target 1280x1024 instead.

@Mateo or responsive! And write it by hand ;) like me!
fixed three bugs already!

7:59 PM
I am here!

I made a mobile site recently, need to finish "fixing" stuff for only Internet explorer and get it up - because it works perfect on everything else...

aaahhh run
just kidding!

...

@Mateo Internet Explorer?

@kalina o/

8:00 PM
I hope IE9 and up?
@FEichinger -_-

Why bother with IE?

yeah, probably only 10 and up...

@blade19899 What?

Exactly!

I suppose as a good developer you must..
but for my private sites I just ignore it.

jrg
8:01 PM
As a good developer he'll have a "Get a better browser" sign for everyone

@Seth A good developer says "Hush, IE, see you again when you comply with standards."

@Seth Have you tried writing a website with IE6 support?

the latest only available only on 8.1 works, but...

@jrg I got that on mine!

A successful developer, on the other hand, will have to honour browser compatiblity.

jrg
8:01 PM
@Seth ugh, ignore IE

@blade19899 Nope. I don't care about IE 6.

@blade19899 switch to tables if you want that

haha

How about i just ignore IE
and nag everybody that visit my website to switch to Firefox, Chrome, Opera

exactly.

8:03 PM
on another note I once figured out how to center something vertically and horizontally(would dynamically center)by warping it in two tables taking up 100% of the page

> You're using IE6. Since you must be from the past, you won't understand any of this anyway.

/me checks if he enabled the update browser window

@jrg Here is a strange question I suddenly thought of. Call me crazy or whatever, but what happens when someone sues you as an Ask Ubuntu moderator? For deleting their question or something...
I'm not worried about it, but I'm curious..

@Seth good question.
And update browser has been enabled. Also 'enable js' windows

maybe I should ask Shog instead.

8:22 PM
Bang! another bug down!

Ahh. Someone asks a question with a problem, but doesn't provide enough details to make it possible to write a solution exactly to his problem. So you go ahead, use your intuitive skills and write an answer with the possibilities what can be wrong in his setup and how can he troubleshoot and/or correct them. Then he solves the problem with the help of your answer and writes a less general answer, basically rewriting one of your points from your answer, and he accepts his answer as the solution.
I don't like when this happens.

No one likes it :-/

Hate! when that happens!

@hbdgaf sorry - only came back here now (too busy to be healthy). Hope your issue is resolved by now :)

@FEichinger Good to see that I'm singlehandedly bringing up the stats on AU

8:25 PM
@kalina >.>

@FEichinger what? I start actively using the site, votes on questions and answers increases visibly on the graphs... what more proof do you want

I'm not disagreeing.

@kalina can't say your votes don't help.

I'm nearly at electorate anyway, so then I can go afk again

facepalm

8:30 PM
what? I need all of the time I spend here to dedicate to software recs :p

lol

@Seth It's not like anyone expected her to stay with us. :P

asfdklfjadklfjasdf. I still don't have the sportsmanship badge. goes back through answers
@FEichinger hmm...

I'm actually only here to get all the gold moderation badges and demonstrate to @FEichinger how easy it is to get more rep than he has
on his primary site
in a couple of months

sadface

8:34 PM
It really isn't as hard as he thinks it is, true. But it is a lot harder than kalina makes it out to be.

@FEichinger while you have <2k rep, you can submit edits for points
since we have a clean up thread (that I made btw, hint, hint) it's easy to find posts that need editing

@kalina Stop telling me how to get rep. I know how to get rep. I just don't want to!

you're so lazy

Not lazy. Actively defiant.

@Seth nah it's not hard at all
1 to 1001 rep is literally just a time thing

8:36 PM
@blade19899 guess I am going to get proven wrong. almost on 10 :D

500 edits

@Rinzwind 10 what?

I have both shocked and surprised myself that I managed to answer some of your questions correctly though, because I really don't know Linux
candidates, probably

@kalina I take quality over quantity any day :=)

that argument doesn't work

8:37 PM
@Seth upvotes to an answer ;)

@Rinzwind Never doubted in you! :)

@Rinzwind ah. I think I know which one >:D

@Seth ROFL :D
so simple yet he had to ask >:X

Man.. I can't believe I don't have the sportsmanship badge...

@Seth you'd be surprised how many people don't
most of the mod candidates on arqade didn't have it either
same with the SO candidates

8:39 PM
@Seth I have :=)

@kalina I'm actually not surprised. I got into an argument with someone on arqade about that.

it's not in people's nature to "upvote people who answer the same content you do"
because it makes you feel like you're less likely to get the accept checkmark

@kalina I do it all the time.
@Rinzwind good for you :P

@Seth obviously not, or else you'd have the sportsmanship badge

@kalina No... it means you admit someone did better or at least a job as good as yours and a lot of people can't stand to admit that

8:41 PM
I upvote everything that deserves an upvote

@kalina that was why I said I'm surprised I don't have it.. I'm going through my answers now, almost every single one with another answer, I've upvoted.

well the other option is your presence scares other would be answerers away

@Seth maybe all your answer have a negative total _O- :D

@kalina even this data.stackexchange.com/stackoverflow/query/133766/… returns nothing for me..
@Rinzwind haha

so what you're telling me

8:43 PM
what the heck. we only got 15 sportmanships badges?

is I should quickly go answer every post you've ever answered
get all the upvotes
get you a badge
right?

hm, I only have around a 100 answers.

no. because I've already upvoted the answers on questions where I have an answer, so it wouldn't do my any good.

yes it would, you're misunderstanding the requirements

@kalina No, you're not doing the whole gaming-the-system thing again. ò.ó

8:44 PM
its "upvote 100 answers", not "upvote answers on 100 questions"

@kalina oh right. I forgot that for a second.
@Rinzwind exactly. 16 soon hopefully :D

@kalina it is more subtle :+ "Up voted 100 answers on questions where an answer of yours has a positive score."

it's the only default badge here I don't have AFAIK.

that's not very subtle

that latter part excludes answers you have with a 0 score

8:45 PM
if you had a CW with 100 answers with one of them being yours at a score of +1
you could get sportsmanship off one question
even more devious
if you time it right
you can upvote everything, get the badge and un-upvote everything

3 mins ago, by FEichinger
@kalina No, you're not doing the whole gaming-the-system thing again. ò.ó

there should be a Cheater badge which automatically sets all other badges to zero. ;)

hey, I don't condone these actions
I'm merely saying it's possible

Hey tons of kilo-rep and no badge would shure look funny.

@kalina I don't think you can do that. It takes some time after you comply with the requirements to get a badge. And you can only unupvote for 3 or 5 minutes.

8:49 PM
@Takkat how are you doing on guru? >)

@falconer depends how soon after you upvote the script runs

@kalina Yes. I don't know when those script run, you do? :)

@Rinzwind you can't get that multiple times, can you?

yep.

@falconer hence...

8:51 PM
I've got one.

4 mins ago, by kalina
if you time it right

@Takkat nope

sigh

@Rinzwind you can't?

pretty sure you can

8:51 PM
this --^

you can...

wait
I meant epic :=D

I thought there were certain badges that you could loose?

...

Epic is for very special Ubunteros only.

8:52 PM

@Mateo get yourself banned, lose all of them

jrg
@Seth Uhhhhh
dunno

@Seth they can't

yeah well I got epic but according to ./reputation I got 200+ on 48 days... those deleted users cost me 2 200+ rep days :(

Reversal is a great goal.
If only these downvoted questions stayed longer...

8:54 PM
for starters, they'd have to sue Stack Exchange to get them to reveal enough information about you to come after you
and "wah wah wah they deleted my question" isn't going to stand in court

jrg
@kalina eh, they probably could find where I live from public records.
starting a company has a tendency to bring oneself out into the open

then in that case
fall back on the SE legal policy

oh, it was tag badges...

which every user agreed to by creating an account/posting
which states that by posting on stack exchange, you're licensing stack exchange to do whatever they want with your content
and thus, you deleted stack exchange's content
not the user's

@Mateo ♥ tag badges... still a gold badge waiting for the first holder.
