@jzx Well, you also want to maximize the amount of blocks visible per block removed. If I use the morph mod, I could turn into a chicken ore something to do my mining. Then I could dig 1x1 shafts, giving me 4 blocks for every block that I dig.
looks good. You're really just trying to maximize the number of new blocks revealed per block dug, and digging straight ahead in a single tunnel like that is best (4/dig)
If you also dig 1/1 out, the first block will give 1 new block, then each after will give 5. So, yeah, do that
after the first block in a 1x1 shaft, you're going to reveal 5 new blocks (top, bottom, left, right, and back), But then you'll be digging the back one? is that your consideration?
The method I'm thinking of won't be efficient at looking at all blocks in an area, but it'll be faster to reveal new blocks in the area (leaving behind lots of holes)
Aidan, how many blocks of ore that are out of sight doesn't matter unless you're trying to minimize the size of your mine. The whole map is out of sight.
Best is 1x2 tunnels that you can walk through with 1x1 holes to the sides that go out as far as you can dig and exactly 2 blocks at the back of your 1x1 hole should be the back of the adjacent hole
Yes, but also, if you leave the middle block, ALL of the others will be slightly less efficient because you already know what the middle block is and they are only revealing the sides
math doesn't set precedence for all operators found in programming (for example, postfix operators taking precedence over unary operators, of which prefix is a part)
> The laying of land mines has inadvertently led to a positive development in the Falkland Islands. Mine fields laid near the sea during the Falklands War have become favorite places for penguins, which do not weigh enough to detonate the mines. Therefore, they can breed safely, free of human intrusion. These odd sanctuaries have proven so popular and lucrative for ecotourism that efforts exist to prevent removal of the mines.
what the hell... linux mint installer keeps crashing with no error message, and there is nothing on google to help with the problem...mostly because there's no error message.
@Lasse I'll do it again, I forget exactly what it says. it was trying to load a file or something like that. I've already looked at the md5 thing and it's right, so...
@AidanMueller yeah, I could try an older version... don't want to, but meh, maybe I can update after it's installed
@IcyDefiance I had this weird glitch when I was installing a Debian VM. It simply wouldn't get past a certain step. I googled and googled - nothing. Got this idea: Herp derp, every installation tutorial is on a previous version, derp, I should install an old version - it worked!
@IcyDefiance Porque los wheels de weapons son cool?
What I like about spanish, is that the words are related: Dental = dental Dientes = teeth then you also have the word "de", which to my understanding, lets you combine words (also means of) Sepillo = brush Un sepillo de dientes = tooth brush
Yeah, times change. Often for the worse, and often for much worse. It's seldom that I have such a bad experience that it makes me want to quit something altogether and never go back.
Some people just like to ruin things for other people though.
I know latin would be much more helpful for that, but english does derive from german... I suppose you would have to have a very extensive german vocabulary for that
It is easy enough to figure out, just repetition and strengthening. They sometimes explain the conjugation rules and stuff below the lesson before you start it
what the heeeellll. I tried a couple different things with this mint installation that I found on google, nothing worked, so I just tried the installation normally one more time to get the exact error code again and it worked perfectly.
so confused :'(
I think it decided not to work for an hour just to spite me
aaaaand now I just get a black screen when booting. no grub or anything.
I have a quick question about buttons that toggle between two states. (Think Play/Pause, or Shuffle/Regular Play.) As the title says, should the toggle show it's current state or the state to which it will transition?
I think people are used to the Play/Pause convention. But the Shuffle/Regular ...
While offtopic, people keep asking questions in subject. I think that Help Center > Asking page can be improved a bit, by linking how to get started making a game to this page. During my personal experience in starting with gamedev I can say that this page is, at least, a very good starting point...
@SpartanDonut It's weird, I know you were supposed to replace our dear friend Todders, but I still haven't been able to transfer my memories of him to you.
option A: bullet is an entity that flies through the world, no particles added option B: bullet is a particle since shooting is done with exactly one hit test at the right time
it could also be both but then it would get a bit messy
or none, but then the bullet is invisible and player loses a visual feedback element
though if you mean that bullet could be rendered with one particle then it can be an entity either way
but I don't think it's a really cool idea from the start since I spent a lot of time making the perfect bullet system, just to find out it wasn't really all that useful later
