@JourneymanGeek something occurred to me though - if I carefully tune and test the OC, and then swap out the power supply - does that invalidate the voltage tunings, possibly affecting the stability?
@kalina I have a couple in one of my empegs - haven't really worked out how to use them to their best, so I'm just treating them like ordinary disks. The aggressive spindown routine is a bit pointless now though
@kalina On my recording/gaming machine, I only have an SSD for the OS. Everything else is across a few big disks (not sure how many at the moment - couple of terabytes, anyway)
since it would be my tail that is rainbow colored, I suspect that there is a pot of gold near the end of it, depending on how badly we want to completely warp this image forever
@TerryChia two things - that site is blocked by default by my noscript blocker (which is funny), and also didn't I tell you how vehemently opposed to not drinking alcohol I am?
I once did a dry January - and ended up with permanent spinal damage as a direct result. Never again!
@TerryChia to shorten the very long bit (which was all about how I courted my good lady) - I should have been drinking but was taking a dry January...which meant I had the car (back in the days when the company car was basically a slow bus) and a drunk driver crashed into me
Wouldn't have happened if I'd been drinking, as I'd have still been in the club
@TerryChia yup - the only redeeming fact was that I didn't have to have a rant at the driver in the other car. She, and her 3 friends had also all forgotten to wear seat belts, so had punished themselves very successfully in the collision
And as their very small car managed to fire my Rover 800 about 50 yards sideways, with a wheel embedded where my seat used to be, we did get off lighter than them
